ML Engineer in DataRoot Labs

Our client is the early-stage project, a UK-based startup that develops a diagnostic tool for top biotech/pharma companies. We seek individuals interested in applied machine learning, particularly in finance and biotech.

The role is at the intersection of ML and mathematics. We are looking for candidates with a strong mathematical background to co-build the early-stage version of the product and later work on improving it. The ideal candidate will be highly self-motivated, well-organized, and capable of working remotely in Kyiv, with quarterly in-person meetings in Kyiv. 

Operation using agile methodology, with bi-weekly sprint planning and daily 15-minute stand-ups. Tasks will be evaluated by complexity rather than time. This role offers a long-term opportunity to work on various ML projects particularly in the biotech and finance sectors, with potential for financial rewards and stock options down the line.

A successful candidate will have the opportunity to head engineering and development efforts for future biotech and finance products that fit into the same field of automating specialist knowledge in a given field. The fields will be focused on medical applications and finance applications.

Requirements:

• Solid Python Experience (3 years +)
• Specialized experience and knowledge with Linear Regression, Gaussian Processes, Single value decomposition, Hidden Markov Models
• Good Math skills (Linear Algebra, Analytic Geometry, Matrix Decompositions, Vector Calculus, Probability Distributions
  and Continuous Optimisation)
• Experience in Azure (Azure K8's, VM, etc.), Jupyter Notebooks, VS Code
• Familiarity with ML deployment techniques
• At least upper intermediate written/spoken English
• Kyiv located

Would be a plus:

• Knowledge of existing yet fresh AI tools, AI marketplaces, etc.
• Experience in edge ML

Key Responsibilities:

• Tackle tough problems and find creative ways to solve them
• Maintain and optimize the solution for maximum speed and flexibility
• Guide, tune, and train big neural nets 
• Write clean and reusable code
