Middle Node.js Software Engineer in Valtech Ukraine

We are looking for a strong mid Node.js engineer to join a big project in the UK. Our client is one of the leading UK digital e-commerce retailers. It is the number one destination for shoppers who value flexible payment options with a platform that receives over 2.2 million visits per day. The client is focused on modernizing its existing systems and platforms, utilizing a wider variety of modern, cloud-based technologies.

We are also open to hiring more veterans and internally displaced persons.

The Ideal Candidate

• 2+ years’ experience in developing applications and APIs with Node.js
• 2+ years’ hands on experience with AWS Services - ideally Lambda, ECS and API-Gateway, and Dynamo
• Daily development with Typescript and modern JavaScript ES6
• A passion for building highly testable, effective, and maintainable system
• Good knowledge of software design fundamentals/principles (e.g., SOLID)
• Experience in practices such as TDD, BDD, refactoring, pair programming and working in highly collaborative teams
• Experience of delivering software changes safely and at speed using CI and CD practice
• Upper-Intermediate English level
• Accountability, strong communication, collaboration, and time-management skills
• Strong desire to learn more about business every day

Optional

• Not essential but would be great if you have experience with React.js
• Any AWS certifications
• E-commerce background within an agile, multidisciplinary and global/multicultural team

As a consultant, you are expected to develop expertise both in technology and the means to communicate complex concepts and rationale to non-techies.
