Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer II to join our Investment Accounting team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, with a particular emphasis on creating and maintaining solutions that support private debt accounting functionality. In this role, you will work closely with the product owner, business analysts, and other technology teams to design, develop, and implement robust software systems tailored to the specific needs of our investment accounting operations.

Responsibilities

Design and Projects

• Collaborate with the product team to understand their software needs and challenges.
• Design and develop high-quality, scalable software solutions to streamline investment accounting processes and reporting.
• Contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle, including analysis, design, implementation, testing, and maintenance.
• Optimize existing software for improved performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Provide technical support for investment accounting applications, troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely manner.

Standards and Best Practices

• Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and share best practices with the team.
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data through the development of systems that enforce strict data validation and reconciliation practices.
• Advocate for new technology and best practices in software development, especially those that can be applied to our product.

Requirements

• 2+ years of professional experience as a Software Engineer.
• Proficient understanding of .NET and C#
• Proficient understanding of .NET/C# unit testing methodologies and frameworks
• Proficient understanding of JavaScript (ES5 & ES6+)
• Proficient understanding of the browser environment — DOM APIs, HTML/CSS, etc.
• Proficient understanding of testing methodologies and frameworks (Jest, Cypress, etc.)
• Experience with version control systems (Git, SVN, etc.)
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Desire to work in a collaborative team environment and contribute to team success.
• (Nice to have) Familiarity with financial accounting principles and investment types (e.g., stocks, bonds, derivatives).
• (Nice to have) Experience with NoSQL databases (Mongo)
• (Nice to have) Prior Experience in accounting/financial software development.

Education

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
