Project highlights:

Our Client provides one of the world’s leading online video platforms, which gives a huge range of possibilities — for streaming, online presentations, live conferences, events, tutorials and trainings. The platform uses the most innovative and leading-edge browser-based video capture technologies to support Live Streaming of events that can support 1000’s of simultaneous viewers. Many of the same video pipeline technologies are used by organizations such as Amazon Video and Netflix. This platform encodes and streams millions of minutes of video presentations per year.

Project technical stack:

Back-end — Java, Front-end Javascript

Overall Architecture is RESTful APIs serving JavaScript FE clients. There are quite a few Java Services that Run Async. There are several 3rd party systems involved.

Main framework used in Java is Spring Framework. There are quite a few we used, but these are standard in this world.

What’s the job?

• Works on a development team writing and maintaining code for computer applications
• learn the codebase, work on small bug fixes, and participate in paired programming with mid-level and senior developers.
• attending and contributing to development team meetings, troubleshooting, patching computer code, and collaborating with other developers to create applications
• Design, develop, and unit test applications in accordance with established standards.
• Participating in peer-reviews of solution designs and related code.
• Package and support deployment of releases.
• Developing, refining, and tuning integrations between applications.
• Analyzing and resolving technical and application problems

Requirements:

Minimum Requirements

• College or University degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
• Strong desire to learn

Core Competency Requirements

• Solid understanding of object oriented programming concepts
• Solid understanding of relational database design and querying concepts
• Familiarity with version control concepts

Preferred Competency Requirements

• Knowledge of Java 8 and Spring Framework 5 ecosystem
• Knowledge in web development using HTML5, CSS and JavaScript
• Knowledge of continuous integration and deployment
• Knowledge of client/server application development
• Knowledge of agile development methodologies
• Knowledge of unit testing theory
• 2+ years as a software engineer
• Strong experience with modern Java 8 and Spring Framework 5 ecosystem
• Experience with continuous integration and deployment
• Solid knowledge of SDLC, agile practices and documentation
• Solid experience with databases and query optimization (MySQL)
• B1+ English level

Would be a plus

Experience with Amazon Web Services and/or one or more AWS Certifications.

Experience with Javascript, Typescript, Angular, React, and/or other Front-End technology and frameworks.
