UKEESS Software House is looking forMiddle Data Engineer (Python) full-time (remote in Ukraine or Lviv).

About the customer's project:

This is a service by which , on the one hand, users can book a table in a restaurant, etc. in just a few clicks. And for institutions, on the other hand, the service allows them to easily manage and automate this kind of processes, thereby creating the best experiences for visitors (which, accordingly, is reflected in the profit check ;)). The product of our customer (HQ in New York) has been on the market for a long time and continues to develop actively. :)

Especially because it is considered one of the most investment-attractive startups in the field of HoReCa. For example, in the summer of 2020, it attracted a new $50 million for its product, and a little earlier it received an investment from the Alexa fund (AWS). Considering the serious reforms at the time due to Covid-19, this is a very cool figure for this kind of product!

About the team and Responsibilities:

Our future colleague will be:

• Interact with stakeholders to define requirements

Understand available data sources

• Create new dashboards in Looker, as well as work with existing ones

• Work with LookML and PDT (Looker Persistent Derived Tables)

• Work with data transfer from DataStore to BigQuery (including real-time tables)

• Will manage knowledge base / technical documentation for developed solutions.

Necessary knowledge, skills and competencies:

• 3+ years of commercial experience asData Engineer

• Strong knowledge and skills of working withPython and SQL

• Experience withBigQuery

• Experience with analytics tools (Looker preferred)

• Practical Experience in Data Privacy and Security

• Experience with cloud environments (preferably GCP)

• Experience withApache Kafka

• Proficiency in English (spoken and written) at an above average level

Preference will be:

• Experience or strong knowledge of NoSQL Document DB (Google Cloud Datastore/Firestore preferred)

• In-depth knowledge of BigQuery

• Experience working with Elastic search

• Experience or good knowledge of Django

• Experience or good knowledge of PyTest

• Work experience or good knowledge of Java or Kotlin

• Strong knowledge or experience with cloud run, cloud functions, GCS as a Data Lake

• Experience or good knowledge of Analytical Query Engine (BigQuery preferably, or Athena, Presto, Trino or etc.)

Technologies generally used in the project: Python/Django/GoogleCloud/MySQL/React/Redux/TS.

UKEESS Software House is looking for a Middle Data Engineer (Python) who will join our team for a full-time position (either in Lviv or remotely in Ukraine).

You will be part of a team working on a platform called Restaurant Reservation System (HoReCa). This is one of the most investment-attractive startups (USA) in hospitality. In the summer of 2020, it raised $50 million (and received an investment from the Alexa Fund (AWS)).

About the Customer's Project:

This platform helps promote and sell unique guest experiences for any occasion. It gives control of and insight into the entire guest experience. It also enables us to drive revenue and profitability automatically by leveraging data to build direct relationships, deliver exceptional experiences, and increase repeat business. This project has been on the market for over 10 years and continues to develop actively!

About the team and Responsibilities:

Our team transfers data from the Google Cloud Datastore to BigQuery. As a part of the team, you will:

• Interacting with stakeholders for requirements elicitation

• Understand the landscape of available data sources

• Creating new and working with existing Looker dashboards

• Working with LookML and PDT (Looker Persistent Derived Tables)

• Data ingestion from DataStore to BigQuery (including real time tables)

• Working with bugs

• Managing knowledge base / technical documentation for developed solutions

Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies:

• 3+ years of commercial experience as a Data Engineer

• Good knowledge and skills in Python and SQL

• Experience with BigQuery

• Experience with reporting tools (Looker preferred)

• Hands-on experience with Data privacy and security

• Experience with cloud environment (GCP preferred)

• Experience with Apache Kafka

• English: the upper-intermediate level at least (both speaking and writing)

It will be a plus:

• Knowledge or experience with NoSQL Document DB (Google Cloud Datastore/Firestore preferred)

• In-depth knowledge of BigQuery

• Experience with Elastic Search

• Knowledge of Django

• Knowledge or experience with PyTest

• Knowledge or experience with Java or Kotlin

• Knowledge or experience with Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, and GCS as a Data Lake

• Analytical Query Engine (BigQuery preferred, or Athena, Presto, Trino, etc.)
