Mental Health Technician (MHT) in Sandstone Healthcare Group

Responsibilities:Provide therapeutic support to psychiatric patients under direct supervision. Observe, encourage, and record patient activities and progress. Ensure patient safety by being vigilant and minimizing risks. Act as a professional role model and communicate effectively with the treatment team. Adjust therapeutic approach based on patient acuity, age, gender, and culture. Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent; preference for behavioral sciences degree or relevant coursework. Knowledge of psychotropic medications and cultural sensitivity. Adherence to program policies and procedures. Strong documentation and communication skills. CPR certification, annual skills verification, and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification. Populations Served:Child (1-12 years), Adolescent (13-17 years), Adult (18-64 years), Geriatric (65+ years). Essential Job Functions:Customer service, nursing services, and therapeutic milieu support. Safely perform vital signs, assist with personal hygiene, and accompany patients to medical appointments. Maintain confidentiality of patient records and adhere to patient rights. Work Environment:Indoor climate-controlled environment with exposure to psychiatric patients. Physical requirements include sitting, stooping, standing, walking, and lifting up to 35 lbs. Ability to work outside of routine hours, including holidays and weekends.
