The MHPSS Supervisor will work within the framework of the projects: 

• “Integrated emergency and protection services for the vulnerable population of Kharkiv Donetsk Oblast” 

• “RISE UP. Response for Integrated Support to Eastern Ukraine Population”, funded by AICS (Italian Agency for Development Cooperation) 


Scope of the Position: 

The MHPSS supervisor will support the capacity building of the staff; will supervise the mental health workers and will provide psychological support to the health team of the local partners. The MHPSS Supervisor will be based in Kharkiv. 


Key Responsibilities and Duties: 

- Provide SH+ and mhGAP training to the mental health staff involved in the projects. 

- Identify the need for additional training for the field staff of the consortium partners. 

- Ensure planning, coordination and supervision of mental health and psycho-social related services provided by the psychologists and social workers. 

- Provide supervision sessions to the staff involved in the projects, in coordination with the MHPSS Specialist. 

- Ensure the implementation of evidence-based psychological assistance to the beneficiaries of the program. 

- Coordinate the daily work of the MHPSS team and ensure the implementation of the activities in a timely manner. 

- Ensure that data protection and confidentiality are respected at all times. - Participate in thematic conferences, supervision and training opportunities when approved or required by CESVI. 

- Participate in the cluster meetings when required by the line manager. 

- Identify and resolve technical and implementation issues promptly. 


Qualifications: 

- Clinical psychologist (with a degree in clinical psychology or counselling psychology) with a minimum of three years of experience humanitarian organizations 

- MhGAP certificate - desirable - Self-Help Plus (SH+) certificate - desirable 


Skills and Competences:

- Knowledge of and experience in clinical supervision, training, and coaching others.

 - Knowledge of and experience in using established inter-agency standards and guidelines in MHPSS, such as IASC Guidelines on Mental Health and Psychosocial Support in Emergency Settings. 

- Solid understanding of protection principles, case management and client-centered care in humanitarian settings. 

- Ability to work within a team structure or in isolation, flexible, and can cope with stressful workloads and working with limited resources 

- Spoken and written English an advantage
