ASSISTANT MEDICAL COORDINATOR

The main activity of the employee:

Supporting the medical coordinator by performing delegated tasks and duties, including administrative tasks, related to work coordination, ensuring good relations with local and national authorities and proper program management in projects, in accordance with MSF protocols, (para)medical standards, hygiene rules and standard precautions in order to ensure the provision of quality medical care to patients and their communities, as well as improving the health of target population groups.

Main duties:

• Monitoring, supervising and evaluating the implementation of medical measures within the framework of the project, visiting projects according to the established schedule and participating in determining the needs of human resources, materials and equipment Assist in the implementation of MSF protocols, (para)medical standards, and universal precautions during service delivery
• Assist in the collection of national health care policy (meetings, reports, articles, etc.), collection and participation in the analysis of epidemiological data (meetings, reports, articles, etc.) received in the framework of projects Providing medical support to patients (treatment, recovery) and in cooperation with supervisors, overseeing all medical expenses related to the patient. Organizing administrative and medical information (reports, current treatment), discharge of patients and their return home.
• Support and supervision of project teams tand participation in the management of the medical team in coordination (recruiting, training, monitoring their work, vacation planning, evaluation, etc.). Participation in briefings and debriefings of members of the (para)medical team and promotion of communication and active participation in the development of the project.
• Application of employee health protection policy and participation in the evaluation of hospital structures that can serve as reference structures for national and international staff. Participating in medical monitoring of MSF personnel and, in cooperation with the immediate supervisor, controlling all medical expenses related to various consultations and hospitalizations.
• Participating in the pharmaceutical management of the mission, advising and managing logistics team in drug inventory management. Organization of the launch, inventory and maintenance of an operational medical library according to the classification plan.
• Participation in the collection and management of data from projects, as well as the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual reports and the organization of archiving of data and medical reports in the project.

• Performance of other duties at the request of the medical coordinator (unplanned strengthening of the team in the field, participation in evaluations, etc.).

Features of the MSF unit:

• Carefully monitor the proper implementation of the policy of physical and mental health of the personnel of the Kyiv office; support health coordinators in other regions.
• Supervise health data collection in the mission.
• Collect data and prepare monthly reports.
• Create special reports upon request.
• Visit projects for staff health monitoring and data management.
• Monitor adherence to MSF guidelines and protocols.
• Provide support in covering staffing gaps in key medical positions.
• Check and prepare analysis of prescribed drugs by MSF areas of activity.
• Participate in internal and external meetings to represent the OCS (operations center in Brussels) MSF, record and share protocols.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

• Doctor's degree or its equivalent in a related field of health care;

Experience:

• Training or experience in tropical medicine and/or public health;
• Experience in a developing country;
• Experience in emergency situations;
• Work experience of at least 2 years;

Languages:

• Proficiency in languages ​​- Proficiency in Ukrainian and English languages ​​are required.
