MEAL Assistant in ACTED

Implement and manage MEAL

1. Apply appropriate analysis tools and techniques (e.g. survey questionnaires, focus groups, key informant interviews) and conduct data collection in person or by telephone via Kobotoolbox;
2. Provide support to MEAL enumerators as needed;
3. Interact with the ACTED information management team to ensure that all data collected by the software and MEAL teams are properly stored in electronic or paper format; 
4. Analyze MEAL data and prepare reports, infographics, or fact sheets using statistical analysis and visualizations (diagrams, tables, histograms, box plots, etc.) within established deadlines;
5. Organize meetings with program teams to discuss results and determine directions for improvement.

Learning 

1. Encourage the active dissemination and use of knowledge gained during MEAL activities among project managers, technical coordinators and project development managers/officers; 
2. Contribute to the organization and conduct of training events in order to record best practices and lessons learned during project closure or as necessary;  
3. Document and share lessons learned and best practices in a timely manner, and ensure that learnings contribute to project improvement and influence the strategic development of future projects and activities; 
4. Sustain project implementation and improvement by providing timely information on project successes to be scaled up as well as challenges to allow for “correction of direction” throughout the life of the program. 

Other

1. Provide regular and timely informationreport on progress and obstacles to MEALM and other team members;
2. Perform any other related activities as assigned by the immediate supervisor. 

Key Performance Indicators

• % of assessments successfully completed in the last 6 months
• % of written reports that are informative and timely delivered to program teams in the last 6 months
• Number of monitoring missions conducted in the last 6 months
• % of monitoring of cycles that concluded with an improvement path discussion held with project and coordination teams within the timelines outlined in the ACTED MEAL guidelines in the last 6 months
• % of lessons learned and best practices recorded and shared with program teams

Key Qualifications

• 0-1 years of work experience in monitoring and evaluation or a related field;
• Experience with Microsoft Excel and other Office tools;
• Prior experience working with humanitarian agencies or development organizations is desirable; 
• Knowledge of the English language is preferred.
