The 17 national members of the network implement domestic and international health care projects, currently over 300 projects in 75 countries around the world.MdM provides emergency medical aid in disaster and crisis situations, supports access to health care and, if possible, assists with reconstruction measures. The network is also active in risk reduction and preparedness as well as long-term development co-operations in neglected regions around the world that receive little public attention. MdM ensures that its health services are provided equally to the most vulnerable citizens, refugees, internally displaced people and host communities, regardless of their ethnic, social, religious or political background.MdM has been operating in Eastern Ukraine since 2015, targeting the most vulnerable communities and people affected by the ongoing conflict by improving access and quality of health care services for the population in Luhansk Oblast and Donetsk Oblast.Since the Russian invasion in February 2022 MdM has restructured its setting in Ukraine and adjusted the programme accordingly. Currently four MdM chapters are active in Ukraine (MdM Spain (network lead), MdM France, MdM Greece and MdM Germany). The MdM network maintains a coordination office in Kyiv and each MdM chapter manages field offices in its geographical areas. MdM Germany’s programme is covering Donetsk (GCA), Dnipropetrovsk and Vinnytsia Oblasts with field offices in Dnipro, Vinnytsia and Kramatorsk. The emergency response in Ukraine is currently implemented around two main components: direct delivery of services through multidisciplinary mobile units (including PHC, SRH and MHPSS) to IDPs and strengthening the local health system through distribution of medicines and medical supplies to several health care facilities, rehabilitation of health care facilities as well as targeted capacity building measures.In support of our work in Ukraine, MdM Germany is looking for an experienced Mental Health Manager, based in Dniprowith frequent visits to Vinnytsia and Donetsk oblasts and other locations within Ukraine.The Mental Health Manager is responsible for management of the MHPSS activities of MdM GE implemented in Ukraine.Responsibilities:Ensure effective and efficient implementation and follow-up of MdM’s MHPSS activities in Ukraine according to approved plans and budgets and propose programmatic adaptations of the MHPSS programme if needed.Lead technical assessments/surveys in Ukraine, develop relevant ToRs and tools for data collection, analyse the result and provide comprehensive reports on the results.Contribute to development of concepts/proposals for MHPSS programms/projects.Participate in the country strategy development in accordance with MdM's vision and mission as well as existing national plans and policies.Provide supervison and technical support to MdM MHPSS team and local partner organisations in implementing the ongoing mental health activities in Ukraine.Monitor data collection processes, analyse the mental health data on a regular basis and set up corrective measures if needed.Ensure MHPSS activities have needed equipment and supplies to function.Assess capacity building needs of the MHPSS team, develop capacity building plans and identify relevant training opportunities, train national staff on required mental health-related topics.Review and analyse the quality of data reported by the MHPSS team, provide feedback and ensure timely and quality reporting.Represent MdM and establish/maintain good relationship and regular contacts with local communities, regional/local health authorities and international and national organisations represented in Ukraine.Ensure donor and MdM visibility requirements are respected within the project/programme.Ensure close collaboration and adequate integration with the Health Team.Hierarchical & Functional linksThe Mental Health Manager reports directly to the Mental Health Coordinator.
