CESVI has received a grant from AICS for the implementation of the projects: “Integrated emergency and protection services for the vulnerable population of Kharkiv-Donesk Oblast” and, in partnership with the NGO We World, “RISE UP. Response for Integrated Support to Eastern Ukraine Population”.
Scope of the Position:
CESVI is looking for a Local Area Coordinator who will support the coordination and implementation of the projects in east Ukraine (Kharkiv and Donetsk Oblast)
The Local Area Coordinator will be based in Kharkiv.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Supervise the field team ensuring the support needed
- Ensure the correct allocation of the resources to better respond to the needs of the project implementation
- Oversee the implementation of the projects implemented by CESVI and its partners
- In coordination with the Programme Coordinator, monitor the activities regularly ensuring the tracking progress and assessing the impact of the interventions
- Ensure financial accountability and transparency in collaboration with the Country Administrator
- Operation: Support the Operations Manager on matters related to procurement and Human resources
- Support the Security manager in conducting security assessments and ensure the correct implementation of the security protocols
- Ensure the respect and implantation of CESVI procedure and guidelines, PSEA and Code of Conduct etc.
- Build relationships with local authorities, communities, other NGOs, clusters, UN agencies
- Ensuring effective communication with and accountability to beneficiaries
- Ensure timely communication with the Operations Manager and the Country Administrator in the main office
- Lead the need assessments reflecting accurately the needs of the beneficiaries for the sectors of interest of CESVI
- Providing training and capacity-building opportunities for the field team
- Provide feedback on the professional performance of the field team.
- Contribute to the development of area-specific strategies and action plans
Qualifications:
University degree (Master's degree preferred) in a relevant field such as International Development, Social Sciences, public health or a related discipline.
Skills and Competences:
- Experience in humanitarian projects interventions/projects (at least 2 years);
- Experience with an (I)NGO (preferred);
- Strong analytical, coordination and organizational skills;
- Computer skills: MS Office package and Internet;
- Fluency in spoken and written English:
- Ability to lead and manage teams to achieve demonstrable results;
- Demonstrated experience in mentoring/capacity building of staff and commitment to staff training and development;
- Be able to travel to other sites for support when assigned by the direct line manager;
- Excellent interpersonal and representational skills;
- Good communication and report-writing skills are essential.
