The Program Summary
Building on the successes and lessons learned from the implementation of the Locally led, Inclusive and Versatile Emergency Support to Conflict Affected Populations in Ukraine program (LIVES) as well as Private Funding supporting a Rapid Response Mechanism (RRM), Mercy Corps Ukraine will continue to work with CSO partners to deliver a comprehensive package of emergency assistance to the most vulnerable conflict-affected individuals and communities in Ukraine. Partners deliver multi-purpose cash assistance (MPCA), in-kind food and non-food assistance, and other key sectors, particularly livelihoods, protection, and psychosocial support.
The Position
The Senior Humanitarian Program Officer will support local partners ensure smooth, efficient, and effective implementation of the program. The Senior Program Officer provides technical support to other program team members and ensures adherence to quality standards across the portfolio of partners. A particular focus of the role will be overseeing issues related to partners which span multiple program areas of operation. The Senior Humanitarian Program Officer effectively delegates teamwork, manages time, and builds the capacity of Officers they manage.

Accountability to Participants and Stakeholders
Mercy Corps team members are expected to support all efforts toward accountability, specifically to our program participants, community partners, other stakeholders, and to international standards guiding international relief and development work. We are committed to actively engaging communities as equal partners in the design, monitoring and evaluation of our field projects.

Success Factors
Must be a driver of localization, capacity sharing and partnership approaches with partners at a local level. The position holder should have strong multi-tasking, organizational, and prioritization skills, as well as attention to details. A demonstrated ability to work quickly, accurately, meet deadlines, and process information in support of changing program activities is necessary. Ability to coordinate with different members/levels of a team. Ability and willingness to travel within Ukraine, including in areas of program implementation in eastern Ukraine, security permitting.

During the field trips living conditions will be adjusted to the field conditions.
