The DRC has existed in Ukraine since 2014. At the moment, DRB has more than 800 employees working on the territory of Ukraine to implement emergency response in the sectors of social and legal protection, livelihoods, housing restoration and humanitarian disarmament and peacebuilding (humanitarian demining), providing direct support to responsible persons and non-governmental organizations (NGOs), as well as their partners. DRB will continue to develop long-term solutions, adapting them to the changing situation.
DRB is currently looking for a highly qualified Leader specialist of the project against gender-based violence (GBV) to join our team in Kyiv (with regular trips to the regions activities of DRB programs in Ukraine).
General purpose of the role
Under the direct supervision of the project manager for social and legal protection, you will provide guidance and consulting on all aspects related to the planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting of DRB activities in the field of combating illegal activities in Ukraine. You will be responsible for the technical quality of work on prevention and response to GBV throughout Ukraine, including case management, psychosocial support, awareness-raising and capacity-building activities.
Your main duties in the position will be:
Ensuring compliance of DRB programs to counter GBV with regional and internal strategies:
- Participate in relevant coordination meetings at the national and regional levels, including meetings of the subgroup on gender violence.
- Develop strong relations with the active actors of combating GBV and related actors, including civil society organizations (CSOs), in the areas of DRB intervention.
- Collaborate with all sectors within the DRB, especially, but not limited to, Social Protection, MPCA (Multi-Purpose Cash Assistance), NFI (Non-Food Commodities), Housing and Economic Recovery sectors to identify and implement joint activities/strategies as well as integrate measures to reduce the risks of GHGs.
- Lead the process of developing a GHG strategy in DRB at the national level.
- Develop the necessary tools, guidelines and SOPs for the social and legal protection team of the DRB.
- Regularly review and share new evidence obtained on the basis of international standards and tools, including the Minimum Standards for Countering INF, IPC (Inter-Agency Standing Committee) Guidelines for Countering INF.
Providing direct technical supervision for the quality implementation of programmatic activities in countering INF:
- Support the socio-legal team protection to ensure that all programs with warningsprevention and response to GBV were based on the guiding principles of combating GBV and met the needs of women and girls.
- Provide technical supervision and support to all members of the social and legal protection team involved in activities to prevent and respond to GBV.
- Develop and facilitate training on basic gender principles and principles of combating GBV, including training for the team on social protection issues, government partners, CSOs and other stakeholders.
- Coordinate work with relevant stakeholders (including national and international non-governmental organizations (NGOs), CSOs, government partners).
- Develop, support and disseminate service mapping.
- Prepare quarterly reports for donors and develop project application sections on issues GZN.
- Provide support to social and legal protection managers in determining contextual information for the development of specific activities, information sessions and training programs implemented in the Centers for Women and Girls.
- Contribute to the concept, development and production of "informational, educational and communication" (IPK) materials.
- Provide support to the psychosocial support team in the development of gender-sensitive modules and materials adapted to the needs of women and girls.
- Contribute to the development of tools and indicators for monitoring and evaluation.
- Develop evaluation tools and coordinate the organization of data collection, summarization, analysis and dissemination of results.
Administration:
- Fill and submit applications for procurement, travel permits and any other administrative forms of DRB as needed.
- Coordinate work with other departments of DRB to ensure effective use of material, technical and financial resources.
Aboutyou:
The successful candidate must have at least 3 years of relevant work experience in the field of social and legal protection, health care, humanitarian activities or development and at least 1 year of work experience with cases of combating gender-based violence.

Required
- Higher education (Bachelor/Master’s degree) in a relevant field, including gender issues, social work, etc., as well as proof of additional specialized training.
- Proven practical work experience in the field of combating GBV/SRH, including case management, preventive measures and public involvement.
- Prior experience of working with displaced and conflict-affected communities, conducting training programs on the prevention of IDPs, raising awareness and providing services in rural areas.
- Considerable experience in developing the potential of staff.
- Advanced level of English (C1 level).
