Lead iOS Engineer, MapXP in Lyft

This team is responsible for creating user-facing mapping experiences, ensuring the presence of excellent mapping products and features across Lyft’s apps. They also enable other teams to utilize maps more effectively and with greater ease. The primary challenges the MapXP team addresses include:Reducing Lyft’s reliance on Google Maps by developing and scaling our own internally-built mapping experiencesCreating mapping and navigation products tailored specifically to the needs of Lyft and its usersEnabling Lyft to control routing from the start to the end of ridesEnhancing the safety and efficiency of driver navigation compared to current solutionsImproving the user experience of pickups and drop-offs, especially around venuesResponsibilities:Keep up-to-date with iOS and industry developmentsBuild great UX for millions of usersPartner with product managers, designers, and other engineering teams to build complex features and products from idea to positive executionWrite well-crafted, well-tested, readable, and maintainable codeAnalyze our internal systems and processes and locate areas for improvement/automationShare your knowledge by giving brown bags, tech talks, and promoting appropriate tech and engineering best practicesIdentify, triage, debug and resolve issues/bugs across our various applications and platformsParticipate in code, product and design reviews to provide feedback to ensure best practicesProvide technical mentorship and feedback to junior engineersHelp establish roadmap and architecture based on technology and our needsExperience:Worked on and shipped large scale iOS applicationsExperience writing SwiftExperience with architecture paradigms like unidirectional and reactive programming, and other patterns commonly used in the industryExperience with SwiftUI, unit and snapshot testing, and creating shared componentsGreat product sense; you care about usability and good designAbility to work with a low-ego, highly collaborative, and cross-functional teamBonus points: experience pursuing side projects or open-source projects, experience with unidirectional data-flow and reactive programmingBenefits:Professional and stable working environmentThe latest technology and equipment you needPotential to work remotely, including out of country (dependent on work authorizations)28 calendar days for vacation and up to 5 paid days off18 weeks of paid parental leave.
