DRB is currently looking for a juniorsocial and legal protection specialistfor his activity in Kharkiv
The employee holding this position is under the direct supervision of the head of the social and legal protection project team.
General purpose of the role:
Under the supervision of a Lead Social Protection Specialist, the Social Protection Assistant will provide case management services to vulnerable individuals. Case management is a structured form of support that aims to provide emotional support to vulnerable individuals , who need help and support in getting access to services and information.He/she will work closely with communities, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and government institutions to provide services and exchange information about available services.The successful candidate will work in the DRB office in Kharkiv and will take part in trips in the Kharkiv region.
Your main duties and responsibilities will be:
Under the supervision of a leading specialist in social and legal protection, the social and legal protection assistant will carry out the following:
- Provide case management services to vulnerable individuals, including conducting client needs assessments, developing action plans, sharing information and referrals to other service providers, and following up with the client.
< li>Complete and ensure safe storage of documents required for case management, including referral form and consent form.- Refer clients to other service providers, including medical, legal, shelter, and support clients as needed in advocating their needs to other services.
- Accompany the client to facilitate their access to services when necessary.
- Participate in meetings with representatives of other services when necessary.< /li>
- Provide monetary or in-kind assistance to vulnerable persons to reduce theirrisks in the field of protection.
- Carry out service mapping to determine available services in the community. Establish and maintain relationships with relevant government and non-government service providers to support safe diversion.
- Conduct outreach activities with stakeholders to share information about case management services provided by DRB and other topics, related to social and legal protection information.
- Coordinate work with other DRB departments to facilitate referral and information sharing.
- Any other duties that may be appointed by the head of the department of social and legal protection and/or the manager of social and legal protection, relevant to the achievement of the goals of social and legal protection.
About you:
To be successful on this position, we expect you to have excellent communication skills and at least 1 year of experience working with vulnerable people. In addition, we also expect:
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple responsibilities languages.
- High level of personal integrity and understanding of confidentiality and ethics.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer, Outlook/Exchange, Windows operating systems.
- Knowledge of the Ukrainian language is mandatory.
- Knowledge of the English language is desirable, but optional.
