Junior QA Engineer (Malevich, Smart Home) in Ajax Systems

R&D, which consists of four departments: System, Device, Automation and QA, is responsible for device development at Ajax.

Security systems have increased requirements for reliability and stability of operation. That is why the QA Department at Ajax Systems accompanies the product both at the development stage and in the process of production and further development. They detect bugs in hardware, software, or system interactions. This is not just a team of "clickers", these are creative engineers. They test new devices in various extreme conditions: they simulate the movements of people and animals, reproduce complex weather conditions, temperature changes, arrange controlled fires and floods. The Ajax line includes control centers with its own RTOS (OS Malevich), video surveillance, motion sensors, opening, flood protection and fire sensors, street and home sirens, an alarm button with the function of controlling devices, automation devices. Ajax Systems has many proprietary technologies: Jeweler and Wings radio protocols, Fibra wireless protocol, LISA algorithms, SmartDetect, HazeFlow 2, JetSparrow technology, and also owns 38 patents for inventions, designs, etc.

We are looking for a new player in the QA Department to strengthen the Smart Home team.

Knowledge and skills required:

• excellent knowledge of theory testing;
• ability to apply test design techniques;
• ability to write bug reports and test cases;
• knowledge of SDLC;
• experience working with requirements and TOR;
• good analytical skills;
• technical education;
• ability not only to find the problem, but also to find cause and effect communication;
• knowledge of binary and hexadecimal number systems;
• high level of self-organization.

Will be a plus:

• experience with JIRA, Confluence, Testrail;
• experience with Kibana;
• basic knowledge of Linux;
• experience with Git;
• experience with MySQL/MongoDB;
• experience/basic knowledge of working with electrical engineering.

Tasks:

• testing the OS of the hub - Malevich;
• perfectly understand the structure of the system;
• not only find bugs, but also with the help of logs and external manifestations to find out the reasons for incorrect system behavior;
• many investing and troubleshooting;
• participating in the analysis and updating documentation;
• validating the system for functional and non-functional requirements;
• task estimation;
• writing checklists, test cases, test plans;
• working with Git;
• finding problems not only in Malevich, but also in other parts of the system (Server, Mobile/Desktop App's);
• interaction with other teams and departments (developers, designers, businessanalytics);
• work with QA Tools (server/device emulators);
• task estimation;
• interaction with Beta Test participants and the Support team;
• participation in the optimization of testing processes;
• improve the quality of the system as a whole.
