September 6, 2024 First job

Junior privacy lawyer (GDPR)

remotely

Legal IT Group is a niche law firm that provides IT business services.

Our clients include product and IT outsourcing companies in 25+ jurisdictions.

The products we support as DPO have millions of users around the world.

In our privacy practice, we have three people with the title of FIP, so we have good expertise.

There are many requests, we are growing and therefore we need new people in the team :)

Summary:

This vacancy is in practice data privacy compliance. This is 100% remote work, but you can sometimes work in our office at the Golden Gate :)

We provide GDPR (substitute other acts in the field of privacy) compliance and DPO as a service, as well as situational services such as DPA proofreading, DPIA, TIA, LIA, privacy culture trainings, etc.

The main customer pool is international product IT companies.

Requirements:

  1. English - advanced (including legal) - you will have to read and write a lot of documents in this language. This is an important point. 99.9% of all tasks are in English.
  2. Knowledge of GDPR and other privacy regulations, including guidelines, penalty practices, etc. The GDPR did not appear yesterday, so we reasonably expect that the candidate has at least already read the GDPR and is ready to work with it (as well as with other regulations).
  3. Good communication skills and the ability to work in a team + the desire to constantly learn, because the dynamics of this niche leave no other choice.

What will need to be done?

  • GDPR/privacy audits/consultations
  • GDPR/privacy documents
  • conducting various privacy assessments
  • involvement in DPO as a service
  • writing privacy articles / participation in privacy events
  • conducting privacy research < /li>
  • other interesting privacy tasks
  • creating privacy dashboards and developing a privacy program for clients
  • working with our privacy-tech product (on request)
  • If you have cool English, a desire to engage in one of the most interesting modern legal practices and work with top IT companies, write, we will see:)

The appearance of someone new in the team is always exciting, so, we are waiting:)

We only consider resumes with a cover letter. In the letter, write something about yourself and tell us why you are interested in privacy practices :)

    Cheers.

P.S. — the easiest way for us to contact you is in Telegram, so we would be grateful if your contact is indicated in this program.

PS2. — during the interview, we will ask how the GDPR is deciphered, what is the conceptual difference between a directive and a regulation under EU law, and what grounds, other than consent, are provided for in the GDPR for data processing (Article 6).

P.S.3 - many people say: "very interesting, but I haven't read GDPR myself yet." We are looking for those who confirm their curiosity in action and independently study the necessary materials, learn, and not just declare:)
