Representation of the Danish Council for Refugees in Ukraine (hereinafter DRB) is an international non-governmental organization , which encourages and supports long-term solutions to the challenges faced by refugees and internally displaced persons worldwide.

DRB is currently seeking Junior Mine and Explosive Remnants Risk Awareness Specialist,which will be based in Dnipro

This position is open only to citizens of Ukraine.

Daily trips to the Zaporozhye region are also expected.


Main responsibilities:

Planning, coordination and context analysis:

  • Participate in the development of work plans of activities and implement them accordingly.
  • Follow the instructions of the team leader of the mine risk awareness department regarding coordination on places and notify about uncoordinated cases.
  • Adhere to the given work plans and instructions.
  • Participate actively in internal meetings of the INRM team and share relevant updates.
  • Maintain interaction with various units of the DRB of the HRM of humanitarian demining, non-technical survey, assistance to the victims, as well as other sectors of the DRB to ensure an integrated approach.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the current situation, including contamination by explosive ordnance.< /li>
for adults, adolescents and children in accordance with the SOPs of the DRB HRM, using standard and approved methodologies.
  • As an assistant instructor, support the delivery of Training for Trainers (TOT) for local stakeholders.
  • Support seminars, working meetings, and other public events on humanitarian mine action activities, organized by DRB.
  • Maintain contact with local communities.
  • Distribute informational materials from INRM, according to the instructions.
  • Provide assistance during the development and improvement of MINRM materials and information methodology.
  • Follow SOPs on MINRM and PUN, reporting problems with their implementation to the heads of mine risk awareness department groups.

    Purchasing, Warehouses and INRM activities:

    • Notify managersthe member of the team of the mine danger awareness department about any gaps or damage to the necessary work equipment.
    • Upload data from INRM and means of verification to the online archive of INRM and keep hard copies of documents.
    • On request, accompany purchases, including development of necessary documentation.

    Monitoring and quality assurance/quality control (QA/QA):

    • Cooperate in the monitoring of INRM (internal and external), as well as in the field of quality assurance/control in the country or headquarters (QA/QA).
    • Contribute to the "lessons learned" reports regarding the implemented INRM.

    Information about you:

    • Diploma of higher education with a specialization in Pedagogy or another related specialization;
    • Minimum 1 year of work experience in a humanitarian organization or educational institution. Experience working with children, adolescents and adults, public speaking skills.
    • Full professional Ukrainian language, basic knowledge of English will be an advantage;
    • Excellent working skills with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

    We offer:

    • Contract duration: Permanent contract after successful completion of a three-month trial period.
    • Place of duties: Dnipro (with daily trips to Zaporizhzhia region).
    • Start date: as soon as possible.
