DRC is currently seeking a Junior Specialist in Mines and ERW Risk Communication ( Humanitarian Mine Action Assistant, EORE Assistant)for its activities in Kharkiv.

General purpose of the role:
The main purpose of the work is to increase the level of awareness of the population of the eastern region (mainly Kharkiv region) regarding the danger of explosive remnants of war (ERW) and familiarization with safety rules related to the danger of explosive devices through information sessions and other techniques.
Your main duties and responsibilities will be:
- Conduct mine risk awareness sessions for adults, adolescents and children, in accordance with the internal requirements of the Humanitarian Disarmament and Peacebuilding Sector of the DRB, using standard and approved methods
- Quickly respond to changes in the current situation to ensure the spread of awareness about the risk of mines and explosive objects among the affected population
- Understand and ensure the compliance of mine risk awareness activities with the internal requirements of the DRB
- Participate in the planning of activities related to mine awareness danger
- Plan and hold meetings with representatives of local communities to facilitate the organization of mine danger awareness sessions
- Provide reports on the work carried out in accordance with the requirements of the DRB
- Adhere to the provided work plans and methodical recommendations;
- Improve knowledge about common types of mines and other explosive objects
- During mine danger awareness activities, collect information from the population about discovered explosive objects and transfer it to the Head(s) of the group
- Perform administrative tasks (participate in the preparation of purchase requests, order requests, etc.) and/or other tasks at the request of the Head(s) of the group

To succeed as a Junior Mine and ERW Risk Awareness Specialist, we expect you to be a proactive and adaptive professional in the field of informing the public about the risks associated with mines and explosive remnantswe are wars with strong communication skills.
In addition, we also expect:
- Higher education
- Public speaking skills / conducting trainings, presentations of work with the audience in offline and online formats
- Confirmed experience of working with children, teenagers and adult audiences
- Skills and experience of conducting negotiations
- Possession languages: fluent and competent command of the Ukrainian language, command of English at least at a basic level )
