Junior Manual QA Engineer in Ajax Systems

Ajax is a full-cycle company: from idea generation and R&D to mass production and sales . We do everything: we develop and manufacture sensors, control units, write firmware for them, develop the server part and release mobile applications. The entire team is located in one office in Kyiv, all technical and product decisions are made locally.

We need a person to join the quality assurance team of our software products for firmware/testing of devices at production

Automation Department develops software hardware complexes for testing each device in the production process, creates robotic lines to automate assembly and packaging. And also develops software for device firmware and production management, which allows to optimize the time spent on the manufacture of sensors. Python 3 and Embedded C are used for this.

Main tasks:

• Improve the quality of our software products for firmware testing of devices in production;
• Analyze requirements for testing devices, program functionality and test stands;
• Preparation of checklists, test -cases, test plans;
• Not just to find bugs, but to find out the causes of these bugs with the help of logs, debugging tools and external manifestations ;
• Conduct research into the operation of devices and programs, troubleshoot.

Needed skills:

• Strong technical background (technical education);
• Basic knowledge of programming;
• Deep knowledge and understanding of testing theory (who is QA, what does he do, and what techniques exist for this);
• Maintenance of documentation: compilation of test cases, user scenarios, checklists. Ability to competently describe a bug report and manage the life cycle of a bug;
• Working with bug tracking systems (Jira);
• English at the level of reading and understanding the documentation.

It will be a plus:

• Basic knowledge eelectronics (radio engineering education, amateur radio, products on arduino, ect);
• Knowledge of the version control system (git);
• Understanding how desktop and client-server applications are organized;
• Understanding , what are databases and how they are arranged;
• Experience in testing hardware projects.
