Journalist of LIGA.net video editing in Ligamedia

LIGA.net is an independent Ukrainian business media that explains complex processes, creates context and helps to understand in order to act.

We are developing a video direction and are looking for a video editing journalist who will work with social and political topics for the LIGA.net YouTube channel.

What will you do

• Cook and lead socio-political video content for YouTube

• Analyze the news agenda, form topics and ideas for releases

• Prepare scripts, conversation logic and interview questions

• Work in the frame: moderate conversations, keep focus and dynamics

• Look for and attract guests: experts, politicians, of thought leaders

• Interact with the editorial team during script preparation

• Work with the technical team in the stages of shooting, editing and post-production

What we expect

Experience and knowledge

• Experience in the frame of 2 years

• Understanding political processes in Ukraine and the world

• Knowledge of analytical journalism standards

• Skills to analyze the news and socio-political context

Hard skills

• Clear, confident oral language

• Ability to write a structured script conversations

• Ability to ask precise, logical questions and guide the flow of interviews

• Fact-checking, working with sources and responsibility for content

Technical skills

• Basic understanding of video editing processes (to effectively interact with the technical team)

• Experience with YouTube as a platform - will be advantage

Personal qualities

• Analytical thinking

• Responsibility for wording and meanings

• Resistance to stress in working with staff and guests

• Willingness to work in a team and accept editorial feedback
