JOB OVERVIEW
The IT Manager will contribute to IRC's goals by supporting the organization's IT systems and providing high quality customer service to our operations staff
The IT manager will primarily be responsible for supporting staff in the use of IT systems and will contribute to the installation and configuration of IT infrastructure, staff training and ensuring IT activities in the IRC offices in Ukraine. The IT Manager will work closely with the Deputy Director of Field Management, the Regional IT Director and all program sectors to ensure the proper functioning and support of the IRC.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
< p>Customer service and teamwork:- Work with end users or IT colleagues (Service Desk) to resolve level 1 issues in Ukraine, in person or remotely.
- Escalate 2nd and 3rd level issues to appropriate internal or external resources (international IT, management, vendors) as needed.
- Expert in core IRC applications, such as MS Office (including Teams), Box
- Performs basic analytical tasks to understand core business needs and develops technologies and processes to address them.
- Actively collaborates with colleagues from all corners of the country and region to implement IT initiatives.
Installation and configuration:
- Servers, server operating system and software, hardware and software for desktop/laptop computers and peripherals.
- Local area network, wireless network, layer 7 devices, firewalls, basic network services of peer-to-peer or client-server architecture, depending on the situation.
- Windows 10 operating system (standard corporate image)
- Planning/implementation/management of IT infrastructure/systems standards in all offices
Maintenance , repair and security:
- Perform preventive maintenance on all IRC computers and network resources.
- Develop and monitor the backup/disaster recovery plan for the office/ individual users in accordance with the recommendations of the IRC IT department and provide necessary training in the use of these backup solutions.
- Update appropriate network security and data loss prevention procedures to protect the system from physical damage, viruses, unauthorized users and data corruption.
- Diagnose hardware and software malfunctions by patiently asking customers about the problem and explaining the procedures to them.
- Work closely with the international IT team and the HQ IT team on helpdesk, connectivity and other IRC IT projects in the country and globally.
- Explore local opportunities internet connection to obtain sufficient bandwidth for intranet and application connectivity.
Training, evaluation and testing:
- Develop and implement user training and local staff, including training on basic care and maintenance of computers and user equipment.
- Testing and evaluating new technologies and conducting necessary trainings as requested by the headquarters IT department.
- Prepare and submit regular reports that provide sufficient detail for HQ to understand the computing environment, needs, availability and skill level of IT staff, and future plans.
- Develop a staff capacity development plan by conducting trainings for all IRC users in order to improve the technical skills of working with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook in all offices.
IT Management assets
- Conduct annual IT audit as requested.
- Create and maintain network documentation including but not limited to IP address, system access , e-mail creation system, updates and changes to the original network, etc.
- Maintaining an updated register of IT assets, including software and licenses
- Identifying/monitoring the necessary MSAs/MPAs for IT-related equipment.
Policies and Protocols:
- Develop appropriate protocols for routine maintenance of all IRC-related computer equipment.
- Define, through a tender process, in accordance with standard IRC policies and procedures, the local supply chain for IRC IT needs.
Staff supervision and development:
Project activities
- Manage or provide support to IT projects at national, regional or global levels.
- This position falls under the category of "Partnership Management" - dual reporting to the Deputy Director of Country Operations and the Regional IT Director.
