The Department of Information Technologies of the Ukrainian Catholic University is looking for a technical support engineer to join its team. The candidate's responsibilities will include technical support for employees and teachers, control of the smooth operation of IT systems of the building, prompt response to service calls. The candidate will report to the Head of Technical Support, but will work with various academic units, departments, and individual faculty/staff on a day-to-day basis.
Main duties:
- configuration, testing, updating, diagnostics, setting up computer and office equipment of university employees;
- diagnosis and configuration of network Wi-Fi and LAN connections;
- consulting, training and support of university employees on issues of working with UCU equipment, software and online systems;
- technical support of educational programs, seminars, conferences and other events held in the premises of UCU;
- maintenance of equipment database (registration, transfer, replacement/update);
- other tasks that contribute to the achievement of the goals of the IT department.
Professional knowledge and skills:
- experience in administration of Windows, MacOS operating systems, diagnostics and troubleshooting;
- experience working with the entire range of office equipment (computers, printers, multi-function devices, multimedia projectors, video conferencing equipment, sound systems);
- knowledge of network technologies, principles of computer structure, operation of web services, experience in troubleshooting;
- knowledge of antivirus protection systems;
- mastery of the MS Office suite, software for online learning and photo/video editors;
- the level of knowledge of the English language is Intermediate.
Additional advantages will be:
- work experience in the technical support service;
- work experience in an academic environment;
- ability to work with project management systems (Asana, Jira, Trello);
