IPS/IDS Administrator (Intrusion Prevention System/Intrusion Detection System) in Vodafone Ukrayina

We are looking for a highly qualified and motivated IPS/IDS administrator to be responsible for the implementation, management and optimization of IPS/IDS solutions to protect the company's critical assets and information. This role requires a deep understanding of network security, strong analytical skills and the ability to stay ahead of emerging cyber threats.

Responsibilities:

• Deployment and configuration - install, configure and maintain IPS/IDS solutions to provide comprehensive network protection
• Implement and manage policies, rules and security signatures to improve vulnerability detection capabilities
• Monitoring network traffic for suspicious actions and security events using IPS/IDS tools
• Performing in-depth analysis of security alerts and incidents to identify and respond to potential threats
• Development and implementation of incident response plans in collaboration with the cyber security team
• Investigating security incidents, conducting root cause analysis and recommending strategies for their elimination
• Regular IPS/IDS tuning to reduce false positives and increase detection accuracy
• Constant study of new threats and adjustment of security measures accordingly
• Work closely with other IT teams and security services to integrate IPS/IDS solutions with other security controls
• Cooperation with system administrators to ensure smooth operation of network security measures
• Documentation of IPS/IDS configurations, policies and procedures
• Reporting on security incidents, vulnerabilities and overall system performance

Requirements:

• Higher technical education in the field of IT, information security, telecommunications or related fields
• Availability of certifications such as CCNA (+ Security)
• Confirmed experience of working with network security systems or in a similar position from 2 years
• Deep understanding of network protocols
• Experience in using IPS/IDS tools and technologies
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
• Ability to communicate complex security concepts to technical professionals
• Ability to work in a team and cooperate in a team environment
• Practical experience in administration of various operating systems (Windows, Linux)
• Knowledge of Ukrainian legislation in the field of information security (Laws of Ukraine "On Information", "On Protection of Personal Data") and international standards and methodologies in the field of information security (ISO/IEC 27001, NIST)

Will be an advantage:

• Practical experience of working with network equipment (modems, routers, switchesry, hubs) and security systems (Cisco, IBM, Trend Micro, CheckPoint)
• Experience with such protocols/services/systems as VPN, DMZ, Radius, NAT, DHCP, VLAN, DNS
• Proficiency in English at Intermediate level
