Background

The Agency for Regional Development of Khmelnytskyi Region (hereinafter referred to as the Agency) is a non-profit institution established for the purpose of effective implementation of state regional policy in Khmelnytskyi Region.

The agency, in cooperation with state authorities and local self-government bodies, universities and research organizations, the business environment, professional and public organizations, initiates, develops and implements regional and local development projects that improve the quality of life of residents of Khmelnytskyi and strengthen the economic potential of the region .

During the next 30 months, the Agency will implement measures within the framework of the grant support received from the Swiss-Ukrainian project "Cohesion and Regional Development of Ukraine", UCORD (hereinafter - the UCORD project*).

Duties:

  • establishing contacts between the Agency, international organizations, projects of international technical assistance and advanced institutions in EU countries, etc. countries;
  • organization and holding of events for the exchange of experience and best practices between communities of Khmelnytskyi region and communities in EU countries, as well as between regions in the fields of creative industries, economy, ecology, public services and development of democratic civil society, etc. ; 
  • in general in the field of international cooperation development;
  • systematic interaction with embassies, representative offices of international organizations, international projects and programs;
  • promotion of the region and communities of the region among international partners;
  • li> performance of other tasks necessary for the work of the Agency.

Requirements for the candidate:

  • higher education in in the field of social communications, media, economy, law or related fields;
  • at least 3 years of experience in coordination/implementation of international investment projects and programs, international technical assistance projects or others. Aveobjects;
  • experience of working with international organizations, including international financial organizations, international technical assistance projects or for them;
  • knowledge of the legislative framework of Ukraine regarding the management of investment projects, international technical assistance projects, etc.;
  • understanding of the needs of Khmelnytskyi region in attracting international aid;
  • understanding of processes related to European integration and aspects of cooperation of state authorities, local self-government bodies with subjects of international relations;
  • familiarity with regional politics and economy, including knowledge of relevant key institutions operating in Khmelnytskyi region;
  • competent written and spoken Ukrainian and English;
  • confident PC user - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and other specialized programs;
  • strong communication and presentation skills.

*The UCORD project focuses on the transformation of organizational structures of regional development agencies in 6 pilot regions of Ukraine (Khmelnytskyi, Sumy, Ternopil, Vinnytsia , Odesa and Volyn), as well as building their capacities in order to establish their role as leaders and facilitators of recovery, capable of determining regional priorities and forming partnerships for the development and implementation of projects that fully realize the potential of the regions.

The project is implemented with the support of Switzerland by NIRAS Sweden AB. The UCORD project is currently in its first phase, which began in December 2022 and will continue until November 2026. In total, the project is designed for three 4-year phases with a total duration of 12 years.

The goal of the UCORD project is to promote coordinated actions for recovery and coordinated regional development on the part of citizens, businesses and authorities, which in turn improves people's quality of life, strengthens the stability of society, peace and social cohesion in Ukraine.
