GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION AND THE PROJECT

FHI 360 is an international non-profit humanitarian organization that works in more than 70 countries around the world for the long-term improvement of people's lives through innovative solutions based on local capabilities. The FHI 360 crisis response department is implementing a comprehensive program in Ukraine in the sectors of public health, water supply, sanitation and hygiene (WSH), nutrition and protection. topics through training and mentoring. Another essential element of the program is the improvement of WASH systems and procedures in HCWs through the implementation of the WASH FIT program. This is a method of improving quality in accordance with identified risks, which is used comprehensively to identify and eliminate deficiencies in water supply, sanitation, hand hygiene, order and cleanliness of premises, waste and energy management, and economic administration of health care facilities.

< u>GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE POSITION:

Under the technical supervision of the Lead Specialist of Public Health Programs < The PIIC instructor will be responsible for developing, coordinating and conducting trainings on PIIC and VSG and supervising medical workers in the regions where FHI 360 implements a humanitarian program, in particular, in Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhia , Mykolaiv, Odesa, Kharkiv and Kherson regions. The PIIC trainer will assist in improving the PIIC and VSG procedures in MB FHI 360, in particular, will develop the Procedure for the implementation of standard procedures and guidelines.

The PIIC and VSG instructor will be conducted according to both standardized and adapted programs that will include, in particular, the following aspects:

Water supply and sanitation as a tool for improving health care, introduction to PIIK, diagnosis of common infectious diseases in Ukraine (for example, diseases transmitted through water and blood), diagnosis of diseases that can cause outbreaks (including vaccine-preventable diseases), standard means of infectious disease prevention (e.g., proper medical waste management procedures), use of approved PIIC scales and self-assessment tools to monitor PIIC implementation and adherence to protocols, antimicrobial resistance, treatment of tuberculosis with multidrug resistance, introduction to bioterrorism and bioweapons, awareness of intentional events involving the use of chemical and biological substances, transmission of zoonotic diseases (transmission from animals to humans), procedures with PIIC during palliative care at home for patients.

The main tasks of a PIIC trainer:

  • Develop training programs and technical training materials for PIIC trainings on all topics defined by FHI 360.
  • Develop educational programs and technical training materials for trainings "Water supplyand sanitation as a tool for improving health care facilities", by adapting standardized national and international programs and tools.
  • Evaluate the needs for training on PIIC and "Water supply and sanitation as a tool for improving health care facilities" in health care institutions in each region where activities are carried out, in cooperation with specialists of public health programs, participate in the creation of a training plan on PIIC.
  • Organize and conduct trainings on PIIC for medical workers in each region where the activity is carried out (as for MB FHI 360 , as well as for state primary health care facilities).
  • Organize and conduct trainings "Water supply and sanitation as a tool for improving health care facilities" for health workers and other interested parties in each region where the activity is carried out, as well as carry out personal visits for providing mentoring/supervisory support to trained professionals in the implementation of a set of actions developed for health care.
  • Conduct training for FHI 360 healthy lifestyle program volunteers on case detection and PIIC.
  • Conduct initial assessments in of supported HCWs after each training "Water supply and sanitation as a tool for improving HCVs" (together with the WSH systems engineer), as well as subsequent evaluations under the program "Water supply and sanitation as a tool for improving HCVs".
  • Develop checklists, guidelines and report templates for supervisory visits to the implementation sites of the program "Water supply and sanitation as a tool for improving health care". Develop guidelines for healthcare workers.
  • Develop PIIC assessment and self-assessment tools, PIIC supervision guidelines/protocols for health care providers (and MB FHI 360).
  • Lead the collection of programmatic data on awareness-raising activities on PIIC and "Water and Sanitation as a Tool for Health Improvement" required within the FHI 360 Monitoring and Evaluation System.
  • Prepare reports in a standard format developed by FHI 360.
  • li>Participate in the creation of video materials related to PIIC as part of the FHI 360 campaign on health education and the dissemination of healthy lifestyle ideas for health workers and the general population.
  • Represent FHI 360 at external meetings, related to PIIC and VSG.
  • Join the development of a program strategy for PIIC and VSG, determine priority needs that must be taken into account in the preparation of new programs.

Requirements:

  • Medical qualification or higher education in a related field of public health.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant professional experience, including at least 2 years in clinical settings.
  • Prior experience in conducting trainings on PIIC, infectious diseases, treatment of tuberculosis with multiple drug resistance or antimicrobial resistance.
  • Prior experience in teaching or conducting trainings.
  • Specialization in the field of epidemiology, infectious diseases is desirable.
  • Developed management skills in several areas of work,multi-tasking, independent promotion of program activities with a limited amount of direct supervision.
  • Developed oral communication skills.
  • Fluent command of the Ukrainian language.
  • Advanced level of command of package programs MS Office, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams and PowerPoint.
  • Willingness to travel to other cities.
  • Extremely high level of organization, detail oriented.
