Infrastructure Engineer in Maklai company

Maklai is a Ukrainian IT product company with more than 15 years of experience in developing products for the Western market in the field of tourism. One of their big projects is booked.net, a worldwide hotel booking site with millions of customers every month from 37 countries and 29+ languages.

We are looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to expand our teams due to an increase in the number of projects and increasing demands on our infrastructure. 

Our company continues to grow rapidly, and we want to ensure a high level of reliability and performance of our systems in order to continue to provide the best service to our customers. 
We need a professional who can support and develop our infrastructure, implement new technologies and approaches to optimize our processes.

Main tasks

• Support of the existing infrastructure of highly loaded web projects:
  • Support of project performance
  • Monitoring, collection of metrics and logs (Zabbix, Graphite, Grafana, ELK-stack)
  • Backup
  • CI/CD setup
  • Automation of routine tasks (Bash/Python)
• Infrastructure development:
  • Optimization of software and hardware parts (detection and elimination of bottlenecks)
  • Introduction of new tools and approaches

< br/>Requirements:

• Sure knowledge of Linux OS, Kubernetes
• Understanding of local network operation (routing, VLAN, VRRP, etc.)
• Understanding CI/CD processes, experience working with one of the systems (Github, Gitlab)
• Experience configuring highly loaded web servers (Nginx, Haproxy)
• Experience working with configuration management systems (Puppet or other)
• Experience in configuring and using monitoring systems (Zabbix, Grafana)
• Analytical mindset and critical thinking (a person should not just be an executor, but understand how all processes are connected, and to be able to find a problem and its solution even if you have not worked with it before)

Additional advantages:

• Experience with cloud providers (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure)
• Programming (Python, Golang, C++)
• Database administration ( MySQL, Postgres, Redis)
• Setting up IP telephony based on Asterisk
