FHI 360 is an international non-profit humanitarian organization that works in more than 70 countries around the world for the long-term improvement of people's lives through innovative solutions , based on local capabilities. FHI 360's crisis response unit is implementing a comprehensive program in the public health and protection sectors in Ukraine aimed at reducing morbidity and mortality rates among the conflict-affected population. A key element of the program is to promote the professional development of medical workers in the field of infection prevention and control (PIIC) and diagnosis of infectious diseases.
Detailed description of tasks to be completed:
The PIIC consultant trainer will be responsible for conducting PIIC training for medical workers in the regions where FHI 360 implements the humanitarian program, in particular, in the Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhia, Mykolaiv, Odesa and Kharkiv regions.
Trainings will be conducted according to both standardized and adapted programs, which will include, in particular, the following aspects:
- Introduction to infection prevention and control (PIIC), standard preventive measures for the prevention of infectious diseases ( (e.g. proper waste management), antimicrobial resistance and bioterrorism.
- Infection prevention and control in palliative care, diagnosis and prevention of blood-borne infections.
- Prevention and control of the spread of tuberculosis: prevention of transmission of tuberculosis in inpatient and outpatient settings (based on case studies).
The PIIC trainer-consultant will perform the following main tasks: Organization and conduct of trainings on PIIC for health workers in each region where the program activity is implemented (both MB FHI 360 and state CPMSD).
Coordination of activities with the department of public health programs of FHI 360 by joining regular and unplanned meetings related to PIIC and support of the OZ system.The basic place of performance of tasks for a trainer-consultant with PIIC is the FHI 360 office in Dnipro or Zaporizhia.
Expected load: 47 days.
Engagement Period: July 29, 2024 - November 30, 2024
Eligibility Requirements strong>
Required:
- Qualification of a doctor or higher education in a related field of public health.
- Specialization in the field of epidemiology, infectious diseases, hygiene or preventive medicine.
- Confirmed, including documented, experience of conducting trainings or teaching.
- Ability to work independently, on a personal computer, with a minimum amount of direct supervision.
- Developed public speaking skills.
- Fluent command of the Ukrainian language .
- Advanced level of mastery of MS Office programs, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Extremely high rilevel of organization, detail-oriented.
- Willingness to go on business trips to other cities.
Desirable:< /p>
- One or more years of experience in conducting professional training or training.
- Experience in conducting trainings on the following topics: "Infection prevention and infection control", "Infectious diseases", "Tuberculosis with multi-drug resistance" and "Antimicrobial resistance".
- Fluency in English.
- Experience in conducting trainings for doctors and medical service providers using adult education technology.
