Job Summary:The Human Resource Generalist will assist with the daily functions of the Human Resources (HR) department, including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.Duties/Responsibilities:Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, aptitude exams, and certifications.Recruits, interviews, and facilitates hiring qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs, including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.Performs other duties as assigned.Required Skills/Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Maintains and develops a strategic analysis, thinking, and planning focus, e.g., vision/mission/values/practices/goals/objectives, critical success factors/key result areas, etc. Comprehends organizational strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats, and challenges. Identifies and evaluates industry, external market, and competition. Demonstrates personal and/or professional resourcefulness, insight, and intuition and anticipates unknown factors. Adjusts strategy to various shifting conditions. Education and Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.At least five years of human resource management experience is preferred.SHRM-CP is a plus.Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times. Travel: Approximately 10% of your time will be spent traveling. Location:ProGeorgia’s office is in the Atlanta, GA, metro area. The office offers a hybrid remote/in-person environment. Staff are required to come to the office 2-3 days a week. Compensation:This position's competitive base salary range is $70,000-75,000 annually, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Benefits: Offers premiums for comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance. 401k and company matching up to 5%. Three weeks of vacation are offered annually.Workplace mental health days are offered annually. Sick time is offered annually with a rollover option of up to 240 hours.
