Historian/cartographer in Rehistory.com

Rehistory.com is an innovative startup that specializes in covering historical events on interactive maps with a combination of time tracking and event tracking tools. We are looking for a talented and inspired historian and/or cartographer to join our team to fill the platform with interesting content.

What you will do:

• Form the structure and content of specific historical scenarios, enter all the necessary data on the platform and thus form interactive maps and visualizations
• Conduct constant analysis and improvement of results
• Work with historical sources and archives ( online/offline) to collect information
• Take a significant part in improving the engine itself and the tools of the platform
• Work both in the "world" historical context and in the Ukrainian one

Necessary experience and skills:

• History of publications or activity in the historical environment, history of participation in historical and educational projects - a huge +;
• Ukrainian speaking;
• Good command of words in written form. Knowledge of the English language at the level of confident work with written materials, a confident habit of actively working with English-language sources;
• Ability to use Photoshop, Figma - an additional + due to faster onboarding;

< strong>Qualities necessary for a successful candidate:

• Critical thinking, the ability to question and verify information
• Structural thinking, the ability to structure disparate information in various formats, to present it in a holistic form
• History should be your hobby, not just a job
• You should be interested in learning new things, learn new tools without problems
• You are interested in creating fundamentally a new tool for studying history, which will allow to attract schoolchildren, students, enthusiasts of historical knowledge to it in a much more interesting, exciting and memorable way.
