HEALTH PROMOTER IEC OFFICER

Médecins Sans Frontières/ Medecins Sans Frontieres ( 400">MSF) is an internationalhumanitarian organization that provides assistance in more than 60 countries of the world to the population in a difficult situation, victims of natural disasters, man-made disasters and armed conflicts, regardless of their race, religious or political beliefs.

Employee's main activity:

Implementation of health promotion/IOC (Information, Education, Communication) activities for beneficiaries and local population to increase their awareness and skills on relevant health topics.

Basic responsibilities:

• Inform beneficiaries and communities about MSF (Doctors Without Borders) and the services it provides.
• According to medical priorities, provide beneficiaries and communities with information on specific health issues.
• Conduct medical education and awareness activities (school, church, community sessions) as directed and supervised health promotion supervisor.
• Under the guidance of the health promotion supervisor, evaluate the impact of the activities carried out (using questions, checks and behavioral observation) and report to him/her about problems, successes and limitations.
• Collect all types of information related to specific health conditions and living conditions of the population, in particular with the aim of identifying the most vulnerable population groups for further targeting activities.
• Report to the health promotion supervisor about the activities carried out, identified problems, strengths and limitations.
• Establish and maintain contacts with social partners, in particular with other NGOs and public health services that can provide answers to social problems.
• Keep the areas of educational and communication activities clean and orderly, as well as ensure the availability of professional materials.
• Participate in the creation of anywhat materials are needed for information, education and communication activities. 

Activities are conducted in eastern Ukraine, in locations that change depending on current needs and context. The operational zone currently covers the regions of Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Kharkiv and Zaporizhia regions. 

Please note that the schedule is based on the principle of rotations, health promotion specialists must stay from Monday to Friday with overnight stays in guest houses provided by MSF (which are currently located in Barvinkovo and Pavlograd, but the location of the bases may change).

REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

• Educational level: in the field of social sciences, social communications, nursing or pedagogy.

• In-house training required messages

Experience:

• Desired Poprelevant experience in teaching, nursing or social work, as well as community involvement.

Languages:fluency in Ukrainian; knowledge of the English language is desirable. style="font-weight: 400">Term contract, with the possibility of extension;
