HEALTH PROMOTION SPECIALIST

Doctors without borders/Medecins SansFrontieres (MSF) is an international humanitarian organization that provides assistance in more than 60 countries of the world to the population in a difficult situation, victims of natural disasters, man-made disasters and armed conflicts, regardless of their race, religion or political beliefs.  

MSF is a civil society initiative that brings together people committed to providing helping other people in crisis situations. MSF is thus an association by choice.

Anyone who works with MSF, does so out of conviction and is willing to support the organization's values ​​and principles.

The main activity of the employee:

To implement measures to increase the awareness of the beneficiaries and the local population regarding medical topics (information, education , science), to increase their knowledge and skills on relevant medical topics.

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Inform beneficiaries and communities about MSF and the services it provides.
  • Accordingly to medical priorities, provide beneficiaries and the community with information about specific health care topics.
  • Conduct medical education and awareness activities (classes in schools, churches, community) under the guidance and supervision of a supervisor.
  • Under the direction of the Project Supervisor/Medical Officer, assess the impact of activities (via questions, checks and behavioral observations) and report any existing problems, successes and limitations.
  • Collect all types of information related to specific health and life conditions of the population, in particular, to identify the most vulnerable population groups.
  • Make reports to the supervisor/medical officer of the project regarding activities, problems encountered and limitations.
  • Set and maintain contacts with social partners, including other non-governmental organizations, public health services, who can provide answers to socialproblems.
  • Keep the workplace clean and tidy, and professional materials should be available.
  • Participate in the creation of any materials necessary for informational, educational and communication activities.

MSF section features:

  • Conduct health education sessions for beneficiaries during outreach activities in the villages covered by the East project.
  • Conduct sessions to disseminate information about MSF, project "East" and its activities.
  • Keep in touch with the villages covered by the East project to inform about the schedule and type of activities to be carried out.

  • Support mobile clinic teams in communicating with beneficiaries to provide additional information on continuity of care.
  • Collect relevant data for monitoring the quality of care for beneficiaries. This includes demographic data, beneficiary medical information related to diagnosis, treatment prescribed, medications dispensed and patient feedback.
  • Collection of routine qualitative and quantitative data related to related to sessions on health promotion, promotion of services, understanding of messages, observation, context.
  • Under the direction of the supervisor, implement and conduct various assessments to expand information about the composition population, context, behavior of seeking medical help, patient feedback, etc.
  • In close cooperation with the Ministry of Health, conduct regular sessions to increase awareness and knowledge among the target population group.< /li>
  • Communicate relevant and relevant information using official MSF data recording and reporting tools.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

  • Diploma in Social Sciences, Social Work, Behavioral Sciences, Public Health, Community Health, Nursing.

Experience:

  • Desirable previous experience in teaching, nursing or social work, community involvement;

Languages:

  • Proficiency in the Ukrainian language is mandatory;
  • Ownership
