Doctors without borders / Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) is an international humanitarian organization that provides assistance in more than 60 countries of the world to the population in a difficult situation, victims of natural disasters, man-made disasters and armed conflicts, regardless of their race, religion or political beliefs.
MSF is a civil society initiative that unites people who want to help other people in crisis situations. Thus, MSF is an association by its own choice.
Everyone who works with MSF does so out of conviction and is willing to support the organization's values and principles.
Main goal:
To implement Health Promotion activities (information, education, communication) with beneficiaries and local population to increase their knowledge and skills on relevant medical topics.
Responsibilities:
- Inform beneficiaries and communities about MSF and the services it provides.
- According to medical priorities, provide information to beneficiaries and the community on specific health-related topics.
- Implement medical education and awareness activities (classes in schools, churches, community), under the direction and supervision of the supervisor of the PZ Supervisor.
- Under the guidance of the PZ Supervisor, evaluate the impact of activities (using questions, checks and behavioral observations), as well as report to him/her about problems, successes and difficulties.
- Collect all kinds of information related to specific living conditions and health of the population, in particular, to identify the most vulnerable groups populations to target.
- Report to the Software Supervisor on activities, issues encountered, strengths and limitations.
Features of the MSF Unit:
- Conduct health education sessions for the population/patients during outreach activities in the villages covered by the "South" project.
- Contact the villages covered by the "South" project to inform them about the schedule and type of activities that will be held.
- Conducting service promotion and health promotion sessions.
- Supporting the outreach team in communicating with beneficiaries to provide additional information related to continuity of care.
- Reporting on necessary and relevant informationrmation using official MSF registration and reporting tools.
- Conducting quantitative and qualitative assessments according to project needs and priorities
- Establishing strong links with the communities in which we work through regular contact with official/informal key actors and through events.
- Participate in the creation of any materials required for information, education and communication activity.
- Follow strict safety rules throughout the shift.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
- Education in the field of social sciences, social communication, nursing or teaching
Experience:
- Previous experience in teaching, nursing or social work, community mobilization is preferred.
- Experience in MSF or other non-governmental organization is an advantage..
Knowledge of languages: fluency in the Ukrainian language; knowledge of the English language is desirable.
