Health Officer/Health Officer in Premiere Urgence Internationale

Premiere Urgence Internationale (PUI)is a non-profit, non-political and non-religious humanitarian non-governmental organization. PUI launched a humanitarian intervention in Ukraine in February 2015. The objectives of the mission are to improve or restore equal access to primary medical care for the local and displaced population affected by the military conflict, and to improve their living conditions by covering their fundamental needs.

Place of work - Lviv ( Lviv region) QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Education: Diploma of higher or secondary medical education. p>

Work experience:previous work experience in the volunteering/humanitarian sector will be an advantage.

Knowledge of languages: Fluent in Ukrainian and Russian, a good command of English is mandatory. 

Knowledge and Skills:Teamwork, listening, initiative, critical thinking, ability to process large amounts of information, organizational and planning skills, excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills and ability resolve conflicts.

PC skills: Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office package (with a focus on Excel and Word), data processing skills and working with Outlook.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the general direction of the project manager, the health care specialist will provide general support and control of the provision of support to the health care systems of PUIs in the target health care institutions and local communities in Lviv and neighboring regions. The specialist is obliged to help the project manager in planning, organization, implementation and control of agreed activities. 

1. Implementation of measures:

• Implement PUI measures in the field of health care in various territories of western Ukraine.
• Participate in the preparation of projects of Memorandums of Understanding, Donation Agreements and other programmatic legal agreements with partner medical institutions with the support of the Medical Supervisor.
• Ensure that health care interventions are compatible with and/or part of the national health care system.

• Ensure adherence to PUI strategies and methodologies at the field level by following and adhering to existing Standard Operating Procedures and Guidelines.

2. Evaluation

• Prepare a project of the technical task for evaluation
• Identify new places of intervention within the geographical scope of PUI activities.
• Oversee the evaluation of inpatient medical facilities and locations for mobile teams, both within an existing project and a potential future project, taking into account the strategic mission plan.
• Compile evaluation reports and archive them on Sharepoint
• Analyze the evaluation results and propose actions corresponding to the program activities of the PUI
• Provide activity monitoring and final evaluation to measure the results of the PUI activities in emergency situationsclothes

3. Training for health facilities and public awareness sessions

• Identify training needs for health facilities and public awareness sessions. 
• Under the direction of the Health Operations Manager, develop informational materials, trainings and awareness sessions on healthcare topics.
• Conduct trainings for healthcare professionals on topics identified based on needs.
