DRB has existed in Ukraine since 2014. At the moment, more than 700 employees work in the DRB in total on the territory of Ukraine. In 2024, the DRB will continue to significantly expand to implement emergency response in the social and legal protection, livelihoods, housing reconstruction and humanitarian disarmament and peacebuilding (humanitarian demining) sectors, providing direct support to responsible individuals and non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and as well as their partners. DRB will continue to develop long-term solutions, adapting them to the changing situation.

DRB is currently looking for a highly qualified The head of the rural economic development project, who will join our team in Dnipro.

Your main responsibilities will be:?

  • Manage the economic development team, including the development of the work plan, the distribution of roles and responsibilities, monitor the performance and development of team members.
  • Lead the development of the economic recovery work plan for the project activities in agriculture in accordance with the project proposal, schedule. Including operations, human resource management, work planning and budgeting in agriculture.
  • Support the Economic Recovery Manager in ensuring quality program implementation, including the development of appropriate operational and technical tools.
  • Support Economic Recovery Manager at project start-up and completion, including resource planning, geographic mapping and learning analysis.
  • Support the Economic Recovery Manager in identifying current issues and needs on the ground. Provide qualitative and quantitative data to ensure the relevance of current programs to the needs of communities.
  • Lead the effort to track and manage the progress of relevant project activities, including fieldwork planning, timelines, budgets, etc.
  • Lead procurement activities within the framework of the project, including developing TORs, procurement requests, maintaining contact with relevant departments.
  • Support the Economic Recovery Manager in matters of budget control, forecasting, reserving funds.

  • Coordinate work with relevant departments and internal stakeholders.
  • Participate in external representation and cluster working group participation.
  • Lead work with external stakeholders, including liaison liaison with local authorities, obligated parties.
  • Support the Economic Recovery Manager in the specifiedand opportunities to partner with NGOs, private businesses and obligated parties.
  • Provide technical assistance and analysis assessment on agricultural activities, including consulting on contextual agricultural information and needs in the areas of DRB implementation.
  • li>Develop, review and adapt training materials for staff and wards, and lead capacity building efforts to implement high-quality agricultural programs.
  • Provide technical mentoring in agricultural activities to the internal DRB team .
  • Assess the potential and training needs of target groups and provide individual technical advice and conduct sessions for beneficiaries within the framework of the DRB agricultural project, including the approach of farmer field schools, trainings on agricultural practices, etc.
  • li>Responsible for maintaining the quality of agricultural program implementation, including overseeing accountability and transparency of implementation.


To be successful in this role, we expect you to have at least 2 years of experience implementing economic programsrestorationand implementation of cash interventions and/or micro-grant activities.

In addition, we also expect the following from you:

  • Higher education in the relevant field or work experience in the relevant field;
  • Secondary education in the field of agriculture, agronomy, technology of production and processing of animal husbandry products or agricultural engineering;

  • Complete professional command of the Ukrainian language and an advanced level of English;
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
