I'm currently looking for an IT manager.

I know from my own experience that it is difficult to understand whether your company is your company or not from a standard description on a job site. Therefore, in this vacancy, I tried to tell honestly and in detail about the position of the head of IT, our team and the company.

 

Why am I looking for a specialist personally, and not HR? We do not have an HR department at bodo. We, managers, form our teams and cultivate corporate culture. I conduct all stages of selection. So let's get to know each other!

 

I am 33 years old and I have been in the bodo team for 13 of them. During this time, under my leadership, the company has gone the way:

* from one physical server to a hybrid infrastructure with more than 50 servers;

* from outsourcing in programming and system administration to full-fledged functions in middle of the company;

* from firefighting to a systems approach to IT.

 

What we have:

* 2 system administrators under reporting, closing L1/L2.

* External contractors with competencies in complex services (e.g. telephony).

* Development budget and operational needs.

* 1C and web programmers in the staff.

* IT director working in the company for 10+ years.

* Mail on Google Workspace .

* Critical services are in the cloud.

* We work according to best practice. For example: 1. Backups are made constantly, kept in several different places, if necessary - encrypted and checked from time to time. 2. Elements of the infrastructure duplicate critical functions (Internet, equipment...).

* Step-by-step adaptation to the position. A training plan for professional tasks, instructions, constant meetings with me and colleagues who are ready to help and advise. I am always available for you to come and ask questions.

* We have no bureaucracy, decisions are made quickly. Everyone has the right to vote - any idea you have will be heard, and if it is relevant, we will implement it.

* Flexible schedule for the start of the working day - we don't care what time you come. You yourself choose when it is more convenient to come to the office: at 8, 9, 10 or 11 o'clock. Next, you work a 9-hour work day (including 1 lunch hour).

* Office in the center (86H Malevicha St. - 5 minutes' walk from Lybidska station).

* Financial stability - official employment from day one, salary twice a month without delays, 24 days of paid vacation.

Now about our requirements for the specialist I am looking for:

* Independently searched, selected and hired subordinates.

* Managed the support of 100+ users through the helpdesk.

* Able to configure both Windows and Linux servers.

* Knows OSI network model and built complex networks with VLAN distribution.

* Has experience in building localtheir networks based on Mikrotik equipment.

* Configured monitoring systems not only according to standard templates, but also has practical experience in creating dashboards for specific tasks.

* Has a desire to "get to the bottom" of the reasons the occurrence of any problems, and not just to deal with their consequences.

* Understands the importance of creating backups, the need to duplicate them, conduct periodic checks by "deploying" backups, and uses this in practice in his work.

* Able to schedule tasks with a time estimate a month in advance for both himself and subordinates.

* Works for results, not "from nine to six to sit out."

IMPORTANT: all , including me, work in the office full time. There is no remote work or hybrid schedule.

 

How is the salary formed?

The salary of everyone in the company is made from the bet and from the bonus part. You will have a quarterly and an annual bonus.

Bonuses depend on the following KPIs:

* execution of key projects (90% bonus);

* meeting critical rules and deadlines (10% bonus).

About the probationary period

In this position he is 6 months. The salary does not differ during the trial period and after. Here is an example of the goals that you will have for its completion (the list is partial):

* Conduct an inventory of all IT equipment in the Kyiv office using GLPI and create working tools for equipment management (issuance, reception, delivery for repair , disposal ...).

* Transfer critical servers of Turkey (1C, apache, DC, Mikrotik) to the cloud located in Turkey.

* Reassemble the structure of five file layers with distribution of access by position.

* Create a network map in Zabbix detailing all the logic.

About our hiring process

I personally analyze all reviews and conduct telephone and offline interviews. I make decisions quickly and provide feedback (both the continuation of communication and its termination) immediately or the next day. I expect the same from the candidate.
