The Right to Defense Foundation (the Foundation) is a leading human rights non-governmental organization that comprehensively works on solving the problems of forced displacement and migration, their causes and consequences. Our activities are aimed at protecting the rights of refugees, forced migrants, stateless persons and socially vulnerable population groups.
In 2016, with funding from the Office of the High Commissioner for Refugees in Ukraine, the Foundation launched an advocacy and legal protection program aimed at strengthening the environment for the protection of the rights of internally displaced persons and other affected population groups (hereafter referred to as IDPs). by directly responding to their needs at the community and individual level, and by developing the capacity of civil society to identify and implement long-term solutions.
Head of the regional team of the Fund in Moscow . Zaporozhye reports to the regional coordination manager.
Role The regional team leader/s involves representing the interests of the Fund in the region, administrative management of the regional office, advocacy for changes at the local level, and in particular:
Organizes the work of regional teams (lawyers, psychologists, social workers, monitors, administrative assistants) to achieve the qualitative and quantitative goals of projects;
Coordinates regional office planning activities, including the engagement and use of vehicles by team members;
Organizes and monitors the proper and timely execution of tasks, analyzes the performance of regional office employees in cooperation with program coordinators in the region;
Initiates, implements and/or supports local advocacy initiatives in cooperation with advocacycoordinator;
Organizes and/or participates in key meetings with local authorities, international organizations and other NGOs; supports cooperation with key partners, local authorities and journalists at the regional level;
Organizes and systematizes the document flow of the regional office, in accordance with the internal policies and procedures of the Fund
< /li>Ensures and monitors compliance with office furnishings
Interacts with program managers and project coordinators, heads of functional departments, other heads of regional teams regarding the results of project implementation and program activities in the region
Ensures compliance with humanitarian principles by regional teams;
Understands and ensures compliance by employees of the regional team of the Code of Conduct and other internal policies and procedures of the Foundation;
Contributes to the creation of a positive, friendly atmosphere in the team.
Professional requirements
Higher education;
Understanding the local context of internal displacement;
Experience in managing teams of 30 or more people, including those working remotely (offices in several regions);
Awareness of humanitarian principles and standards of human rights;
Experience in similar positions in a humanitarian context will be an advantage;
Humanity and tolerance;
Performing duties with gender sensitivity and zero tolerance for sexual harassment;
Knowledge of the English language will be a significant advantage;
Good analytical skills and attention to detail;
Self-motivation;
Flexibility.
WE OFFER
The Foundation offers the successful candidate:
Contract until the end of December 2024 with the possibility of extension for the next year, which will depend on personal results and funding;
Option to work with one of the strongest Ukrainian human rights and humanitarian non-profit organizations.
