OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION:
The Program Manager will oversee and lead an expanding multi-sectoral program team. Will be responsible for ensuring high-quality implementation of a wide range of programs in various sectors and communities. Specific sectors include: Education, Child Protection, WASH, MEAL, Cash and Voucher Assistance.
Main responsibilities:
- Manage the implementation of all programs in the relevant field, supervise the implementation of implementation plans projects, evaluate monthly progress of activities against plans, and document progress and take corrective action as necessary. To lead the demonstration of practices for the high-quality implementation of the program;
- Supervision and coordination of all implemented programs at the local level;
- With the support of the program development and quality team, including MEAL and technical advisors, develop and manage all programs according to quality standards and guidelines, as well as policies and strategies" Save the Children";
- Promote coordination within the organization at program and support levels;
- Share responsibilities with the Regional Director regarding representation and discussion with key partners, coordination forums, local authorities, etc.;
- Promote synergy and ensure overall coherence and relevance of cross-sectoral responses;
- Ensure that all programs properly preserve program experiences for future programs and that all key lessons and information are documented;
- Together with program managers, ensure the development of the resilience potential of the national staff and team to changes in the context and further changes in management mechanisms;
- Monitor budget expenditures and support the preparation of financial reports and the grant review process;
- Ensure that all projects have clear metrics aligned to global Save the Children standards, useful and accurate output and staff-friendly reporting formats;
- Ensure donor reporting, evaluation (including impact assessment) and documentation;
- Ensure implementation and review of national strategy and annual plans in line with regional and global strategies ;
- Maintain a clear overview of the security, policy and legal context;
- Ensure appropriate staff participation in program management and decision-making, as well as raise the necessary issues at senior management meetings;
- Represent "Save the Children" at interdepartmental meetings, as well as at the district and regional levels with representatives of the authorities ;
- Ensure that all team members understand and can fulfill their roles in humanitarian programs.
- Manage team, set expectations, provide leadership and technical support as needed, and regularly evaluate direct reports.
- Ensure the recruitment, training and promotion of staff as necessary, and ensure that appropriate opportunities for staff professional development are available.
- Implement staff development strategies and performance management systems into the team building process. Implement a results-oriented system and follow through.
- Manage the performance of all personnel in the team through the effective use of a performance management system, including setting clear, measurable goals, continuous feedback, periodic reviews, and fair and impartial evaluations.
- Documentation of less than satisfactory performance with appropriate work plans to improve it.
< strong style="font-weight: 700; font-style: normal">To be successful, you must have:
- At least 3 years of work experience in a humanitarian organization, including at least 2 years in management positions.
- Higher education in a relevant academic discipline or equivalent work experience.
- Skills and experience in project implementation, monitoring, analysis and evaluation /programs, preferably from the point of view of protecting the rights of the child in accordance with the Convention on the Rights of the Child and international standards of humanitarian rights.
- Significant people and program management experience with good interpersonal skills and ability communicate at all levels.
- Significant experience in grant management, including budget management and reporting to donors
- In-depth understanding or proven experience in security management issues.
- Ability to prepare high-quality reports in English.
- Skills of representation, political awareness and advocacy.
- Experience of working with partners.
- Fluency in written and spoken English and computer literacy.
