We are looking for a Head of Accounting Unit who can build and scale a modern, reliable accounting function for an international energy trading company.  We need an experienced manager who is able to design an operating model, develop high-performance teams in different jurisdictions, lead transformational processes and significantly reduce dependence on external providers in the field of accounting and tax accounting. One of the key areas of responsibility is the localization of SAP S/4HANA for Croatia, Switzerland and Poland and ensuring reliable end-to-end processes during the implementation of the ETRM integration.

Key responsibilities:

• Building and leading the group accounting function in different jurisdictions (operating model, management, team development)
• Forming and managing a high-performing international team, including hiring, talent development and performance management
• Coordinating the implementation of SAP S/4HANA (Croatia, Switzerland, Poland) and ensuring the preparation of mandatory financial reporting with a minimum amount of manual work
• Acting as a financial partner in the ETRM–S/4HANA integration, ensuring accurate accounting of transactions and quality reconciliations
• Strengthening interaction with operational and contract units to standardize document flow
• Reduce dependence on external providers by implementing an insourcing strategy and building reliable internal processes
• Responsible for group period closing and statistical reporting, including consolidation, disclosures, reconciliations and audit coordination
• Implementation of internal controls and continuous process improvement, ensuring audit readiness and high quality financial reporting

Requirements:

• 10+ years of experience in senior positions in accounting or financial control in international companies
• Experience in building and scaling an accounting function across jurisdictions (operating model, management, team development)
• Significant experience leading financial projects in SAP S/4HANA
• Deep expertise in of accounting: IFRS, principles of consolidation, intragroup operations, management and control of the closing of the reporting period
• Successful experience in reducing outsourcing volumes through insourcing, process redesign and team development
• High level ofskills in interacting with stakeholders in finance, tax, IT, contract management and audit
