About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Front-End Team/Tech Leader to join our engineering team and lead our front-end development efforts. In this role, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of our front-end architecture, processes, and methodologies. You will be responsible for rebuilding and guiding our front-end team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and maintainable code. 

The ideal candidate is a creative problem solver who values smart and effective solutions and designs, enjoys sharing their work and receiving feedback, and thrives on challenges to identify the optimal path for both the product and the team.

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of front-end developers, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Establish and maintain high standards for code quality, performance, and user experience.
  • Present and implement a modern approach to front-end testing, ensuring robust and efficient testing practices are in place.
  • Assess the existing technical debt within the front-end codebase and develop a comprehensive plan to address and reduce it over time.
  • Promote a culture of shared responsibility, encouraging collaboration, peer reviews, and collective ownership of code quality and performance.
  • Introduce and enforce effective development processes and methodologies to improve productivity, code quality, and team efficiency.
  • Work closely with product managers, designers, and back-end developers to ensure timely delivery of projects and alignment with business goals.

Required Competence and Skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and inspire a team of developers.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in front-end development, with a proven track record of leading and managing front-end teams.
  • In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with React, including its ecosystem and related technologies.
  • Proficient in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern front-end frameworks and tools.
  • Experience with front-end testing frameworks and tools such as Jest, Mocha, Jasmine, or similar.
  • Experience in leading the design and execution of projects with multiple developers, including conducting design reviews, code reviews, and test reviews.
  • Proven experience in end-to-end feature lifecycle ownership, from product requirements to architecture and design, development, and testing.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written.
