About the job
The ICRC Health Unit is seeking a highly capable First Aid Field Officer to join our team in Dnipro. This role contributes to implementing, running, and monitoring the first-aid program(s) in cooperation with the health team, according to the objectives set out during the delegation’s annual planning process (“Planning for Results”) for a specific geographic area or field of activities.

Your Tasks and Responsibilities
- Implement health program(s) in his/her geographic area or field of responsibility
- Conduct field assessments and regular field visits to monitor activities and first-aid-related threats to the population, and facilitate field trips and communication with the local population/victims/beneficiaries
- Strengthen local emergency preparedness and response capacities
- Facilitate communication with first-aid and emergency medical care providers and take part in analyzing the overall emergency care system (including coping mechanisms and resources)
- Ensure proper management of information collected, produce the subsequent reports and contribute to monitoring and evaluation of projects/activities (such as the medical activity database, stocks and donations
- Support the contextualization and implementation of reference documents and guidelines and/or other reference materials (on education, operations), taking into consideration the local culture, level of resilience, health care system, etc.
- Carry out logistical tasks related to first-aid medical items and organize distribution to beneficiaries and/or contacts in the field when required
- Liaise and build networks with local stakeholders to facilitate communication and coordination of activities, thereby ensuring more efficient implementation of first-aid programs. May represent the ICRC to beneficiaries, local authorities, humanitarian players, armed groups, etc.

About you
To be successful as First Aid Field Officer in the Health Unit, you should possess the following qualifications and experiences and have the following characteristics:
- Ukrainian citizenship or permanent residence permit in Ukraine
- Degree in medicine or nursing (with a specialty in emergency medicine) or paramedic science/practice (feldsher)
- Qualification as a first-aid trainer
- Additional studies in a relevant field (e.g. advanced first aid, emergency medicine, public health) is a strong asset
- At least three years’ work experience in first-aid training/education and/or first-aid program support
- Technical experience in training
- Professional fluency (written and spoken) in English, Ukrainian and Russian
- Computer literacy
- Self-motivated with a strong commitment to teamwork and humanitarian principles
- Flexible, enthusiastic, and willing to learn
- Ability to work independently, as well as effectively under supervision
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks
- Ability to work within a diverse team and establish and maintain good working relations in a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural, and multi-disciplinary environment
