MAG Mission- Since the beginning of the Russian invasion on February 24, 2022, Ukraine has been subjected to heavy artillery fire, rocket and airstrikes, as well as the use of land mines and cluster munitions. The scale of the conflict and the use of powerful and indiscriminate weapons requires an immediate response. MAG's mission is to save lives and build a safe future by providing people with educational risk information to help them stay alive. MAG is also in the process of being accredited to start carrying out explosive ordnance disposal and demining work in Ukraine to save the lives of people affected by the conflict.

Responsibilities:

Processing payments, namely:

• Processing requests from other divisions, monitoring the availability of all the necessary documentation necessary for the formation of payments. 

• Formation of payments in the client-bank internet banking system;

• Display of payments in the automated accounting system (BAF Accounting);

Accounting of settlements with accountable persons, namely:

• Issuance of orders for employee business trips. Entering information into the business trip registration log;

• Issuing travel certificates;

• Calculation of daily expenses;

• Verification of travel expenses, collection and processing of supporting documents certifying the cost of expenses;

• Documentation and accounting of compensation for expenses and expenses issued under the report for the purchase of various materials for small business, postal and other expenses;

• Display of settlements with accountable persons in the automated accounting system (BAF Accounting), generation of advance reports, display of the business trip period in the BAF system;


 
 ABOUT YOU:

We are looking for a candidate:

• Higher education (accounting and auditing, finance, economics).
 • Fluency in the Ukrainian language (oral and written); knowledge of the English language will be an advantage.
 • Education or work experience in the field of accounting will be an advantage.
 • Knowledge of national regulations (standards) of accounting and other regulatory legal acts.
 • Experience with BAF, Office 365 and other common software products will be an advantage.

The scale of the conflict and the use of high impact and indiscriminate weapons requires an urgent and extensive response.  MAG seeks to save lives and build safer futures by providing risk education to communities, to help them stay safe. MAG is also in the process of seeking accreditation to start conducting explosive ordnance disposal and demining activities in Ukraine, to save the lives of people affected by the conflict. 

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Responsibilities:

Processing payments: 

• Processing payment requests from other departments, monitoring the availability of all necessary documentation required for payments; 
 • Verifying all required documentation is complete, executing payments through the internet banking system; 
 • Recording all transactions in the BAF Accounting system; 
 • Support the Finance Team on the preparation of donor financial reports and documentations and Audit in accordance with the law requirements, donor guidelines and MAG policy. 

Business Trips: 

• Prepare business trip orders and official travel certificates 
 • Maintain business trip registration logs 
 • Calculate per diem allowances 
 • Review and verify travel expenses with supporting documentation 
 • Process expense reimbursements and cash advances for materials, office supplies, postage, and other miscellaneous expenses 
 • Record all accountable person settlements in BAF Accounting system: generate advance expense reports, logs of periods of Business Trips in the BAF system;

ABOUT YOU:

We are seeking a candidate with:

• Higher education (accounting and auditing, finance, economics degree) 
 • Good skills in Ukrainian, both verbal and written. English is a plus 
 • Training or experience in book-keeping/accounting is a plus 
 • Knowledge of National Accounting Standards, and other regulatory documents. 
 • Experience with BAF, Office 365, other popular software is a plus
