Finance Officer, finance specialist (NGO) in Camino

Camino is a public non-profit organization registered in Ukraine. Our mission is to strengthen the resilience of communities by providing access to water, energy solutions and protection services. We work in partnership with international donors and state institutions to promote recovery, security and decent living conditions for people in Ukraine. A project financial officer who will be responsible for the financial support of the organization's donor projects. This role involves working closely with project managers and the finance team, controlling budgets, preparing reporting for donors and ensuring expenditure meets donor and internal requirements. The position involves reporting to the Chief Financial Officer.

Main duties

Financial support of projects

• Preparation, analysis and control of project budgets in accordance with requirements donors.

• Monitoring of expenses and control of compliance of actual expenses with approved budgets.

• Analysis of deviations (budget vs actual) and preparation of financial explanations.

• Control of admissibility of expenses in accordance with donor rules and terms of contracts.

Reporting and interaction with donors

• Preparation of financial reports for donors (monthly, quarterly and final).

• Financial support to project managers in matters of budget planning and reporting.

• Participation in the preparation of budgets for new project applications and making changes (amendments).

?? Control and internal procedures

• Ensuring compliance with the NGO's internal financial policies and procedures.

• Checking financial documentation (contracts, invoices, reports of completed works, payment requests).

• Controlling the correct allocation of costs between projects and sources financing.

Audits and inspections

• Preparation of financial documents and explanations for internal and external audits.

• Communication with auditors and support of the audit process.

• Implementation of auditors' recommendations in cooperation with financial team.

Requirements for the candidate

• Higher education in finance, accounting, economics or related disciplines.

• Work experience in a financial position in an NGO or international projects -from 2-3 years.

• Understanding donor rules and requirements (UN, EU, USAID, SDC, UNICEF - will be an advantage).

• Experience in preparing project budgets and financial reports.

• Proficient in Excel (fotables, summary tables, data analysis).

• Knowledge of the English language at a level no lower than Intermediate (for working with donors and reporting).

• Attention to details, analytical thinking, responsibility.

Desired competencies

• Experience in participating in donor project audits.

• Understanding the principles of internal control and division of responsibilities.

• Experience in a multi-project and multi-donor environment.

• Skills effectively work with deadlines and several projects at the same time.
