Purpose of the position
The field officer supports the implementation, coordination and monitoring of activities within the framework of the AICS funded project "HOPE (Health, Outreach, Protection, Education) - Health, Protection and Education Services for Vulnerable Groups in Ukraine". The position ensures quality work on the ground by maintaining close relations with local partners, communities, authorities and beneficiaries, ensuring compliance with AVSI and donor standards.
Main tasks and responsibilities
Support planning, implementation and monitoring of activities in communities and field locations of Dnipro and Zaporizhia regions.
Conduct field visits to check progress, collect data, monitor activities and ensure compliance with project plans.
Interaction with local authorities, community leaders, schools, service providers and partners to facilitate project implementation.
Support organization of trainings, information campaigns, events and mobile work groups.
Collection and verification of field documentation (attendance charts, lists of beneficiaries, monitoring tools, etc.).
Participation in the preparation of field reports, activity updates and materials for donor reporting.
Identification of needs, gaps, risks and challenges on the ground and timely informing the manager of the project.
Support procurement and logistics processes for field activities in coordination with the administrative team.
Ensure compliance of activities with AVSI procedures, AICS requirements and security standards.
Represent AVSI at field meetings and interact with stakeholders as needed.
Support effective communication and coordination with project staff, psychologists, social workers and partner teams.
Promoting community involvement and ensuring a participatory approach in the implementation of activities.
Basic requirements
Education
Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, education, psychology, international relations or related areas.
Experience
Minimum 1 year of work experience in the field of humanitarian or international cooperation.
Previous experience of working with communities, in the field of child protection or social services will be an advantage.
Languages
Ukrainian - native.
English - level B2 (oral and written).
Knowledge of Italian will be an advantage.
Skills and competencies required
Excellent communication, interpersonal and coordination skills.
Ability independently conduct field work, including regular trips to project areas.
Good understanding of public approaches and protection principles.
High level of responsibility, accuracy and organization.
Ability to work under pressure and perform several tasks simultaneously.
Proficiency in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and skills in working in Internet.
Ability to work effectively in multicultural teams.
Having a category B driving license will be an advantage.
Flexibility, proactivity and problem solving skills.

Aim of the Position
The Field Officer supports the implementation, coordination, and monitoring of activities under the AICS-funded project “HOPE (Health, Outreach, Protection, Education) – Community-Based Health, Protection and Education Services for Vulnerable Groups in Ukraine. The role ensures high-quality field operations by maintaining close relations with local partners, community stakeholders, authorities, and beneficiaries, while guaranteeing compliance with AVSI and donor standards.

· Support the planning, implementation, and monitoring of project activities in community centres and field locations across Dnipro and Zaporizhzhia regions.
· Conduct field visits to verify progress, collect data, monitor activities, and ensure alignment with project plans.
· Liaise with local authorities, community leaders, schools, service providers, and partner organizations to facilitate project implementation.
· Support the organization of trainings, awareness-raising campaigns, events, and mobile unit activities.
· Collect and verify field documentation (attendance sheets, beneficiary lists, monitoring tools, etc).
· Contribute to the preparation of field reports, activity updates, and inputs for donor reporting.
· Identify field-level needs, gaps, risks, and challenges, and report them promptly to the Project Manager.
· Support procurement and logistical arrangements for field activities in coordination with the administrative team.
· Ensure that all activities comply with AVSI procedures, AICS guidelines, and protection standards.
· Represent AVSI in field meetings and with stakeholders when requested.
· Maintain effective communication and coordination with project staff, psychologists, social workers, and partner teams.
· Support community engagement and ensure a participatory approach throughout implementation.
Essential Requirements
Education
· Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Education, Psychology, International Relations, or related fields.
Experience
· Minimum 1 year of experience in humanitarian or development cooperation.
· Previous experience working with communities, child protection activities, or social services is an asset.
Languages
· Native Ukrainian speaker.
· English at B2 level (spoken and written).
· Knowledge of Italian is considered an asset.
Required Skills and Experience

· Good understanding of community-based approaches and protection principles.

· Valid driving license (Category B) considered a plus.
