Project Managers work with real estate developers, architects, and mechanical engineers to consult on decarbonization, building performance, and sustainability through the design and construction phases of new construction and rehabilitation projects predominantly in the New York City metro area, that are pursuing various types of certification and incentive programs, including Energy Star, Enterprise Green Communities, LEED, and Passive House standards.Join UsBright Power works with forward-thinking owners and developers to identify, design, and implement custom energy and water solutions on a wide variety of systems. Every day we seek to have a positive impact on the world, one building at a time.Primary tasksProject Management and administrative tasks including:Organizing and maintaining project folders and resourcesSustainability Services document generation for projectsCalculating takeoffs for site visitsReviewing construction submittals across a multitude of projects pursuing sustainability programsManage large multifamily projects pursuing green building certification Advise on decarbonization and sustainability as it relates to all aspects of a project (envelope, systems, configuration, materials, constructability, site related improvements, active design etc.).Recommend energy efficiency and resiliency strategies supported by engineering calculations, building science, and simulationsField WorkPerforming field verification and testing for LEED, Enterprise Green Communities, ENERGY STAR and Passive House projectsPerform construction inspections and testing to ensure quality installation of building envelope and mechanical systemsTrack progress of multiple projects simultaneously and work with external construction teams to keep projects on track to meet performance/program goalsPhoto documentation Site report generationResearch & Process DevelopmentAssist with process optimization Research and analysis related to construction and sustainability industry Maintain working knowledge of newest technologies and trends in the building energy industryStay up to date on iterative changes related to ASHRAE Standards, Energy Code, certification programs and state/city energy incentives.Complete documentation associated with program compliance and liaise with partner program administratorsIdeal Candidates Will Have:OSHA 10 or 30 preferred.Phius Certified Verifier or HERS Rater preferred.Multifamily residential project experience (preferred); single-family residential experience will be considered as wellKnowledge of Passive House Institute US (PHIUS), Passive House Institute (PHI), ENERGY STAR Multifamily New Construction (MFNC), Enterprise Green Communities (EGC), LEED New Construction, and other rating/certification programs.Experience with or understanding of building energy modeling and analyzing resultsWork experience in engineering or architecture, particularly with an emphasis on building performance and sustainabilityAbility to read, interpret, and adjust architectural/mechanical plans and construction documentsAbility to evaluate and perform engineering calculations related to HVAC systemsAn understanding of building science and building envelope designExperience performing construction inspections or construction managementExperience with or understanding of performance testing of large buildings with complex systems and envelopesExcellent organizational and time management skillsAbility to critically problem solve and troubleshoot independentlyAbility to analyze and disseminate data clearlyStrong adaptable communicationStrong writing abilitiesProactivity and passion for leading a project team to implement high-performance best practices into building design and constructionPrevious OSHA 10-HR and Scaffold Training preferred, but can be providedBenefitsIn addition to working with incredible people, Bright Power offers competitive benefits.
