Job Overview

The WGSS Facilitation and Administration Specialist plays a key role in the effective delivery inclusive, victim-focused services through Women and Girls Safe Spaces (WGSS). WGSS are central to WPE programming and are safe, accessible and women-led environments where participants can receive psychosocial support, build networks of solidarity, participate in leadership activities and receive vital information.

This position combines the facilitation of structured psychosocial support (PSS) and sexual assault prevention interventions. violence, implementation of standardized IRC curricula (e.g. Girl Shine, Women Rise), administrative and logistical coordination, community engagement and support for outreach initiatives. The Specialist ensures that all WGSS interventions are humanitarian, responsive to the needs of women and girls, and contribute to their protection, recovery and empowerment. 400">Program Planning and Facilitation

  • Develop, plan and implement psychosocial support and empowerment group sessions based on IRC's standardized and contextualized training programs (e.g. Girl Shine, Women Rise, Gender Prevention Toolkit (violence).
  • Adapt content to meet the diverse needs of women and girls at risk of sexual violence, including displaced persons, victims and persons with disabilities.
  • Ensure that all activities promote leadership, resilience and meaningful participation of women and girls.
  • Integrate digital tools (e.g. messengers, KoBoToolbox, Google Workspace) to improve outreach, feedback and coordination.
  • Regularly update WGSS action plans in collaboration with the WPE team and field protection staff.

Gender-based violence prevention and community engagement

  • Lead awareness sessions on GBV prevention, stigma reduction, safety planning, women's rights and accessibletheir services.
  • Organize community campaigns (eg 16 days of activism) in collaboration with local women's groups and IRC advocacy teams.
  • Distribute information and education materials (IEC) in accessible formats.
  • Involve WGSS members and community stakeholders to identify priority topics and preferred communication channels.

Psychosocial Support and Safe Environment

  • Provide listening support and basic emotional support consistent with Psychological First Aid (PFA) principles.
  • Identify participants in need of case management or specialized services and provide safe and confidential referrals in coordination with WPE social workers.
  • Maintain a welcoming, safe, inclusive and confidential environment in accordance with WGSS standards.

Administrative and operational support

  • Keep accurate records of attendance, results sessions and participant feedback using IRC tools and templates.
  • Manage inventory, supply requests, and procurement needs for WGSS materials in coordination with supply chain and WPE staff.
  • Respond to WGSS-related inquiries and ensure seamless communication with other IRC departments.

Coordination, Networking and Partnerships

  • Collaborate with local women's organizations, community leaders and national NGOs (NGOs) to support referrals, co-facilitate activities and improve service integration.
  • Participate in fieldwork coordination meetings and support joint planning with community structures.
  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of strong guidelines, including regularly updating service maps and partner contact lists.

Monitoring, reporting and training

  • Contribute to the collection quantitative and qualitative data while ensuring ethical monitoring practices are followed.
  • Document lessons learned, participant feedback and success stories for program improvement and donor reporting.
  • Participate in regular reflection and learning sessions with the WPE team.

Leadership and Capacity Building

  • Promote and facilitate the inclusion of leadership development opportunities for adolescent girls and adult women.
  • Actively contribute to the continuing professional development of WPE colleagues by sharing facilitation practices and tools.
  • Employ survivorship, rights and feminist facilitation approaches in all activities WGSS.

Key Working Relationships

  • Reports to: Senior WPE Case Management Officer andcommunity-based approach
  • Works closely with: WPE Community Engagement Officer, WPE Social Workers, MEAL, Supply Chain, Local Women's Groups and NNGO partners

Job Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in social work, psychology, education, gender studies, or a related humanities or social science field.

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience implementing protection programs, especially with women and girls or survivors of gender-based violence.
  • Proven experience in group sessions (eg PSS, gender-based violence prevention, life skills).
  • Preferred with national NGOs and/or community groups.
  • Knowledge of IRC WPE/WGSS standards and GBV guidelines is highly desirable.
  • Prior professional training in PSS promotion, PFA, gender-based violence prevention or community advocacy is highly desirable.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong facilitation, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds with empathy, dignity and non-judgment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace and digital tools for humanitarian programming; familiarity with KoBoToolbox or CommCare is an advantage.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and responsibility in documentation and coordination.
  • Proficiency in Ukrainian is required; Knowledge of the English language is preferred.
