F-35 Training Operations Manager (Nyutabaru, Japan) in Lockheed Martin

Foreign Assignment: This posting is for a long-term assignment in Japan.The selected candidate will have experience as a 4th or 5th generation fighter pilot and will manage the resources required to execute F-35B flight training at the Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF) Integrated Training Center at Misawa Air Base prior to transitioning to the Nyutabaru Air Base training facility.The Nyutabaru Training Operations Manager will be responsible for building a team of qualified pilots and technicians to successfully stand-up and operate a new training facility in the Miyazaki Prefecture of Japan in support of JASDF F-35B pilot training. The stand-up will require planning and coordination for facility preparation, installation of training devices, and ensuring all ancillary items are in place for successful operations. Once sustained training operations are achieved, this leader will ensure annual JASDF F-35B pilot production and operational training support contracted requirements are supported through instructor and training device availability. This role will oversee staffing, conduct personnel performance reviews, participate in budget reviews, provide flight instruction, manage instructor qualifications, ensure the sustainment of training devices, and serve as the central point of contact for the JASDF customer and Lockheed Martin. In addition to these duties, the Nyutabaru Training Operations Manager will assist with supporting other sites in Japan and participate in all site activation activities required.Candidate must have a final SECRET security clearance within the past five years and gain Special Access Program (SAP) access within six months of onboarding date.
