Expert on Family Based Care in ZEST Autsorsing

We are holding a competition for the position of "Expert in family care" to the team of the Coordinating Center for the Development of Family Education and Child Care. 

The coordination center is a consulting body of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, whose task is to coordinate the efforts of the government, international and public organizations for the development of the child care system based on global and European practices, which will meet the urgent needs of Ukraine and the long-term goals of joining the of the European Union. Main responsibilities:

• Organizing the work of the team accompanying deported and returned children.

• Resolving cases with the involvement of partner and donor organizations.

• Coordination of relevant state structures to resolve crisis issues regarding the care of children from different regions upon direct request.

• Communication and building cooperation with relevant structures of various levels related to the direction of accompanying deported and returned children.

• Introduction of a proposal to improve the legal framework in order to facilitate the process of placement of children without status into family forms of education.

• Creation of mixed teams for the implementation of narrow tasks in the directions (deportees and transformation of residential institutions).

• Organization of work with the collectives of residential institutions that have entered the transformation process.

• Reintegration of children from residential institutions into biological families and family forms of education (knowledge about the implementation of these processes).

• Organization of educational and correctional services for children brought up in residential institutions (as a preparatory stage for leaving).

Requirements for candidates:

• Higher education in the field of social sciences and related fields.

• 7 years of work experience in the field of family-based alternative care, support for persons who have left care, strengthening the personnel potential of social services and developing child protection programs.

• English — Upper Intermediate level.

• Experience of effective interaction with state authorities, non-profit organizations, universities, professional associations and other key stakeholders.

Experience of working with international organizations will be an added advantage.

• Good research skills in data collection and analysis. 

• High level of writing and editing skills, analysis and reporting. 

• Excellent analytical, communication and networking skills.

• Ability to work under deadlines.

• Good computer skills, including experience with various software applications, MS Excel, MS PPT.
