UCU implements complex and modern engineering solutions - hybrid boiler rooms (heat pumps + gas), ITP with solar collectors, ventilation with Wof/Rosenberg recuperation, automation and dispatching systems. We are looking for an engineer who is able to analyze technical solutions, assign tasks to designers and contractors, and coordinate the implementation of solutions on sites.

Information about the department

UCU capital projects department is a team of like-minded people who work every day on new university projects and modernization of existing buildings. We implement modern technologies, energy-saving solutions and a high level of automation. In our projects, we use modern technologies, rational energy-saving solutions and a high level of automation.

Main duties:

1. Work with existing buildings (periodically)

• analysis of the operation of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, cooling, power supply and automation systems in UKU buildings; identification of shortcomings, operational difficulties and their documentation for subsequent projects
• preparation of proposals for improving operation, updating, modernization, coordination of solutions with related systems and planning and construction circumstances.

2. Coordination of design and installation of building engineering systems (main occupation)

• selection of optimal technical solutions at the concept or sketch project level, formulation of technical tasks for designers;
• support at all stages of further design - technical analysis and coordination of project solutions with other sections of the project and existing infrastructure, operational and budget requirements;
• support of installation works, analysis of the sequence and technique of execution of individual works, coordination of engineering works with general construction and finishing works, technical supervision by performing installation works of engineering systems.

3. Ordering and procurement

• recruitment of additional and analysis of commercial offers;
• approval of specifications and equipment configuration;
• supply support/control, support in the management of executive documentation.
• preparation and support of warranty and service contracts

4. Communication and technical solutions

• development of concepts and evaluation of solution options for future projects
• documentation of selection criteria and the course of technical decision-making during project implementation (in cooperation with designers, operation service and project team)
• cooperation and good communication with designers, builders and operation - formulation of tasks, detailing of requirements for specific systems, analysis of conceptual proposals, detailing of tasks to executors of adjacent sections; 
• preparation of additional executive documentation and technical comments for operation.

Requirements for the candidate:

Required:

• higher technical education (HVAC or related fields);
• practical experience of working with HVAC and ETR in real buildings (design, operation, technical supervision, commissioning works), work experience and high-quality communication with designers and contractors - from 4 years; style="font-weight: 400">English is at the level of B1–B2.

Will be an advantage:

• examples of interesting projects and personal contribution to their implementation;
• wide engineering experience (structures, architecture, electrical engineering, security systems, automation and dispatching, modern energy-saving solutions);

• comfortable office (Mon-Fri, 9:00-18:00), in the active phase - frequent trips to the construction site, full time;

  3. Execution of the test task and its discussion.
  4. If necessary, an interview with the team of the capital projects department

The test task is aimed at checking the skills:

• to analyze solutions, give clear technical comments or sketches;
• to highlight key and problematic issues, including to related sections of the project; 
• evaluate solutions and alternatives from the pointin terms of cost, ease of implementation, future operation;

During the execution of the technical task, we do not expect:

• production of working drawings;
• detailed calculations;
• ideal completeness of analysis — practical engineering thinking is enough.
