The Application Director (Head of Development) is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the development and delivery of software applications. This position involves strategic planning, team leadership, and collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of development projects. The Application Director will drive innovation, ensure high-quality standards, and align development activities with the organization's goals. 

About the project  

Currently, the envisioned project is an application designed for patient management within hospital and nursing home networks in the United States, along with billing and insurance functionalities.  

Responsibilities:  
 

Strategic Planning and Execution: 

• Develop and implement the strategic roadmap for software development in alignment with business objectives. 
• Set and enforce development standards, processes, and methodologies to ensure high-quality deliverables. 

Team Leadership and Development: 

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of software developers, engineers, and other technical staff. 
• Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture that encourages continuous learning and improvement. 
• Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members. 
   

Project Management: 

• Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple development projects simultaneously. 
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. 
• Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies. 
   

Technical Oversight: 

• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation. 
•  Provide technical guidance and expertise to the development team. 
• Ensure the scalability, security, and performance of applications. 
   

Collaboration and Communication: 

• Work closely with other departments (e.g., product management, operations, marketing) to ensure alignment of development activities with business goals. 
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including senior management, clients, and partners. 
• Prepare and present regular status reports, development metrics, and project updates. 
   

Quality Assurance and Improvement: 

• Implement and oversee quality assurance processes to ensure the reliability and functionality of applications. 
• Continuously assess and improve development processes to increase efficiency and quality. 
• Facilitate post-project reviews and implement lessons learned. 

 
Requriments: 

• Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master's degree preferred). 
   

Experience: 

• Proven experience in a senior development or technical leadership role. 
• Extensive experience in software development, with a strong understanding of development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, etc.). 
• Experience managing large-scale projects and leading diverse development teams. 
   

Technical Expertise: 

• Proficiency in multiple programming languages (C# - must have) and development frameworks.  
• Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and best practices. 
• Knowledge of database management, cloud computing (Azure), and cybersecurity. 
   

Leadership and Management Skills: 

• Excellent leadership and people management skills. 
• Ability to inspire and motivate a high-performing development team. 
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. 
   

Communication and Interpersonal Skills: 

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
